Start with a picnic at the “Forks” of Illinois River State Park and head south on Highway 199 to Great Cats of the World Park. (See related story, page 6). Or sample wine at the valley’s four wineries (Deer Creek Vineyard, Windridge Vineyard, Foris Vineyard; and Bridgeview Vineyard, where, at the latter, you also can feed the fish, swans and ducks).
