    Valley 911 service goes on the fritz

    There weren“t any blazes to contend with last Tuesday, but Illinois Valley Fire District Chief Harry Rich was so worked up about the loss of phone service that he might as well have had smoke coming out of his ears.

  • Former mayor requests right-of-way to property

    In addition to routine business meeting items, the Cave Junction City Council will consider a request by former mayor and current resident Herb Higgins to get a right-of-way deed through city property.

  • Candidates Forum to be held Oct. 14

    A forum for the Josephine County sheriff and commissioner candidates will be held on Thursday, Oct. 14 at the county building in downtown Cave Junction from 6 to 8 p.m.

Bridgeview Winery’s Bob and Lelo Kerivan hosted the annual Grape Stomp Party fund-raiser on Saturday, Sept. 25th. The 110 people who turned out for the annual event helped raise $1,800, which was split 50-50 between Illinois Valley tourism promotion and the I.V. branch of the Boys and Girls Club. “I would like to have seen a better one, but it was a good turnout,” Mrs. Kerivan said. “There was very good food, music and the people had a fun time.” She added that this year’s event was made extra special due to the first-place team of her granddaughter, Gabby, and new son-in-law, David Miller.
