Gary McAllister has lived in Cave Junction for around 14 years. But the small business owner said that he would be hard-pressed to remember a time in which he has seen more weeds growing out of control throughout the city.
An Illinois Valley News candidate forum originally scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 16 has been rescheduled for Thursday, Oct. 14.
The forum will be held at the county building in downtown Cave Junction from 6 to 8 p.m.
The agenda for the Monday, Sept. 13 Cave Junction City Council meeting was very light, but audience members raised issues involving area parks and what they characterized as “overzealous” deputy patrols.

The Illinois Valley High School girls varsity soccer team suffered a lopsided loss Saturday, Sept. 11, while hosting the North Valley High School Knights, but Coach Dick Matti isn’t letting that get him down.
Because Illinois Valley High School has moved from the Skyline Conference to the Southern Cascade League, admission prices for games will be lower this year.
