- Thursday, August 26
- The Pacific Power utility box within view of Jerome Prairie Elementary School was not a good hiding place for someone’s pot pipe.
- John Aron Jones, 31, learned that his application for a medical marijuana card doesn’t work on federal lands. U.S. Forest Service officers seized marijuana left in plain view on the dash of his rig.
- Christopher A. West, 45, found out the party’s over, due to a City of C.J. ordinance prohibiting alcohol on public premises.
- Michael William Gallagher, 55, was warned about failure to maintain lane after he told officers he had low blood sugar from diabetes.
- Friday, August 27
- Wind blew open the door at Sportsman Tavern at 5:15 a.m., setting off a burglar alarm.
- Life at the Dove residence wasn’t too peaceful after a man claimed his wife cut the seat and keyed the tank on his motorcycle.
- Motorists complained of a motorcycle driving in excess of 100 mph at Sauers Flat. Twelve minutes later, near the Wonder General Store, Clay Wyatt Clark, 28, was cited for driving uninsured with no motorcycle endorsement.
- Katy Bavaro, 40, complained that her camping companion stole her credit card and made an unauthorized purchase at Les Schwab. She was tired of it.
- April Masters received quite a scare when her three-year-old daughter wandered off in her pink Dora the Explorer boots. The little girl was sitting in their van, apparently her boots weren’t made for walking.
- Andy Maloney reported damage to his vehicle when someone stole the CD player from his ’86 Ford parked at 202 Caves Hwy.
- Saturday, August 28
- Someone smashed the window on the front door to Cave Bear Pawn Shop, a passerby reported at 7:27 a.m.
- Mikel Anthony Haynes, Charles Derieft Brooks and William P. Chaney were warned about congregating at the C.J. county building.
- Sean Cordell Wylie, 20, was arrested for possession of meth and unauthorized use of a vehicle, and a stolen Honda 400ex quad from Crescent City was recovered after a traffic stop on So. Junction Ave.
- Intoxication was the likely cause of the unconscious person in front of Sterling Savings bank at 1:42 p.m.
- Neighbors indicated that a Remington .22 rifle had been left in an unlocked car on N. Junction Ave. for at least 3 days. The rifle is now in a much more secure location.
- Subjects were warned in advance to control their behavior at a party at Grayback Campground.
- Thomas Warren Lindewall fixed the problem as soon as he was advised that his chain was dragging and causing sparks in the 3000 block of Rockydale Road.
- Wayne Sampley was arrested at N. Hussey Ave. /Millie St. for failure to appear on criminal trespass charges.
- A reported vehicle off the road may have been an ATV that went through the woods near Lurline Lane & Laurel Road at 8:39 p.m.
- Neighbors complained about an intoxicated man setting off fireworks in the 7000 block of Caves Hwy.
- Extra patrol was requested due to more than 3,000 people attending the Hemp Expo & Music Festival at Lake Selmac.
- Quin Lucas Freeman - don’t take your knife to town.
- Mutual combat but no apparent injuries between Jonathan Fredrick Nemoede, 28, and Clifford Thomas Allen Jr., 24, “in front of the Gutter”, according to a police offense report log.
- Too much alcohol fanned a family feud in the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy.
- Sunday, August 29
- Kyle Byers told Oregon State police that he drove his vehicle into a fence at the county yard when he swerved to miss hitting a brand new blue Chevy with Roe Motors paper license plates.
- Joshua William Rosenberry, 26, was charged with Assault IV domestic, menacing and attempted strangulation after an incident on Lone Mountain Road.
- Deputies were unable to locate suspicious activity and unsavory looking people reported at 208-1/2 S. Caves Ave.
- A daughter requested a welfare check on her mother, whose phone had been busy for 2.5 hours. One of the woman’s four very large dogs had chewed threw her phone line. Add dog food to the shopping list.
- Monday, August 30
- Unfriendly neighbors who shot at her son may have been part of the reason a woman gave her 30-day notice to vacate property on Oak Drive.
- A woman housesitting on the 2000 block of Rockydale has been harassed by a female upset about dogs and a dead llama.
- A man reported a 2-liter soda bottle along the side of the road with a reddish liquid inside. He said he did not pick it up because he read a warning about picking up bottles with liquid inside as they may contain explosives. The raspberry soda turned out to be raspberry soda.
- It’s not very neighborly to be stealing plants from front yards on Madrona Drive.
- A 911-caller rambling about politics, Kentucky Fried Chicken and men with pink eyes expressed an interest in joining the sheriff’s office.
- Tuesday, August 31
- A group of disorderly juveniles doing donuts and screaming profanities at campers at Lake Selmac were later heard up on the hill revving their motor, possibly stuck.
- The driver of a black Chrysler Pacifica stated he was blocked in by a county vehicle on a maintenance road near Forks Park. City of CJ advised the subject that he was on private property and needed to leave.
- A caller was concerned for the safety of skateboarders and roller bladers near Old Hwy. 99 and Jump Off Joe Creek Road. The subjects figured it was OK because they had a car at the bottom of the hill warning of traffic.
- Power saws and a leaf blower were reported stolen from 23000 block of Redwood Hwy.
- Barry Wilson, 56, was transported to Three Rivers Hospital with head injuries. Wilson did not know how the injury occurred. Sheriff’s deputies checked around bars in the area to retrieve his personal items.
