Crosswalk still needed
From Lloyd Franklin
Cave Junction
What a surprise it was to see the yellow strip paved so no one could park in front of Taylor“s Country Store.
That is good, but only the beginning.
The crosswalk needs painting badly, plus the drainage system by the I.V. Senior Center Thrift Store and a light.
Again, the crosswalk is being used much more and all the safety features are needed now.
We can do it! If we all keep writing to Illinois Valley News and complain about the crosswalk.
Let“s not stop/give up complaining, and writing to the Illinois Valley News about the crosswalk. We can do it if we try.
He“s in the book
From Mark Seligman
Selma
I urge you not to vote for Dave Toler or Simon Hare for county commissioner. The reasons to not vote for Toler are numerous. He will raise your property taxes for law enforcement and other services.
In 2008 he campaigned against Cassanelli and Brown on your dollar in a county building and denied it. He voted to tax the homeless food providers. He helped to deny Commissioner Cassanelli her rightful chairmanship. His reasons could be seen as sexist or political. When he runs meetings he seeks to cut public comment short.
He was strongly in favor of N.W. Seed Crushers in the bio-fuel program. This could cost the county $45,000 in economic grants or more. He was critical of Commissioner Cassanelli and her public vehicle report saying she cost the county $10,000. He will never truly represent most people if they knew the truth.
As for Simon Hare, he has misrepresented who his supporters are, and his supporters have allegedly stolen signs from Jack Brown. Simon Hare and Gordon Anderson visited a sick (candidate) Ed Bowers, who they wanted his support from. Hare denied badgering sick Ed, which was not true. Simon Hare is new to Josephine County politics. I personally inform him of many facts regarding county politics. He says “Mark, keep on fighting the good fight.“
He is all about political correctness — is that what we need“ I think not! Furthermore, he is a puppet for those that helped to take down a duly elected Grants Pass city council. Toler likewise wanted this council removed.
Neither questions authority, neither will stick their neck out and question public officials. They will both want to increase your taxes.
They both believe law enforcement is the answer to everything and let everything else go to hell.
We need effective leaders, these two are not. I am in the phone book. Phone me. Let“s talk about a write-in campaign. Let“s have a real choice.
We want to hear from you!
