- Thursday, Aug. 12
- Using explicit language, someone complained of trespassers at an Old Stage Road address at 9:27 a.m. No crime was committed, and the caller was counseled regarding proper use of 911.
- Contacted at Bolan Lake campground, a camper acknowledged having been involved in a disturbance the night before, but denied having fired any guns.
- Seven people were warned against trespassing on the vacant lot adjacent to Junction Inn at 5:58 p.m.
- A dirty diaper and smashed cell phone were screwed to a tree at the bottom of her driveway, according to a Lone Mountain Road resident.
- In Downtown Cave Junction at 9:03 p.m. Billy Jack Biggs, 33, was cited on a Douglas County warrant charging failure to appear (FTA) on a traffic citation.
- Near the Cave Junction Post Office at 9:52 p.m., the operator of an electric scooter was advised that using it requires a driver license. She agreed to “walk“ the vehicle home.
- Douglas Michael Larson, 56, was cited on a charge of speeding (46 mph in a 30 mph zone) on N. Redwood Hwy. at 10:26 p.m.
- Friday, Aug. 13
- A Jeannie Way resident reported that someone forcibly entered a garage and drank beer kept in a refrigerator there. The brand of beer was not listed.
- Robert Lee Crow, 39, was lodged in Josephine County Jail in Grants Pass on a state warrant charging parole violation. And he was cited on a felony charge of driving with a suspended license (DWS).
- David Lloyd VanCleve, 68, was cited on a charge of speeding (57 mph in a 45 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. at 8:40 p.m.
- Somewhere south of Cave Junction a woman reported that her granddaughter“s boyfriend stole her car.
- Observed looking into the windows of businesses in Downtown Cave Junction at 9:39 p.m., a man was contacted and checked for I.D.
- In the 10000 block of Illinois River Road, a man was warned regarding illegal camping and campfire.
- Five persons were contacted on S. Redwood Hwy. at 11 p.m. and warned for walking on the roadway .
- One reportedly intoxicated man was “tazed“ as he was detained following a disturbance in the 200 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 11:30 p.m. James Russell Barnes, was lodged in county jail on charges of second-degree disorderly conduct, public indecency and resisting arrest.
- Saturday, Aug. 14
- A 16-year-old boy was cited on a charge of curfew violation in Downtown Cave Junction at 12:10 a.m.
- On S. Old Stage Road, Gregory Scott Koebke, 51, was cited on a Lincoln County warrant charging FTA on an original charge of driving under the influence of an intoxicant. Koebke also was warned regarding camping in city limits.
- A Search and Rescue dive team recovered a safe from Illinois River near the 32000 block of Redwood Hwy. The safe was taken to the Illinois Valley Substation in Cave Junction City Hall.
- Three people were warned at 1:45 p.m. for having open containers of alcohol outside the Josephine County Bldg. in Cave Junction.
- Campers near Spaulding Pond off Interstate 5 in rural Grants Pass were advised of a pending closure order.
- Contacted on E. Lister Street, Chad Barrett Bauer, 42, was lodged in county jail on a state warrant charging parole violation.
- Omar Enrique Montano, 36, was cited on a charge of speeding (64 mph in a 45 mph zone) on S. Redwood Hwy. at 9:44 p.m.
- Two people were said to be atop a two-story building in Kerby at 10:59 p.m., but no one was located when a deputy checked.
- Sunday, Aug. 15
- Eight people were warned against trespassing on the vacant lot adjacent to Junction Inn. All but two were warned regarding drinking alcohol in public.
- Niles Boone Nevin, 26, was cited at 12:58 p.m. on a federal charge of DWS in the 6000 block of Illinois River Road.
- From Frederick Court came a complaint from a woman that a man jumped onto her car while she was inside and was smashing it with a hammer. A charge of second-degree criminal mischief was referred to the district attorney.
- Monday, Aug. 16
- A yellow dirt bike is ridden up and down Finch Road every night, a resident complained at 12:23 a.m.
- A lost two-way radio belonging to Illinois Valley Fire District was recovered on Rockydale Road.
- Someone removed a carved bear from a gravesite at Laurel Cemetery, a complainant stated.
- Tamara H. Lawless, 25, was cited on a charge of speeding (69 mph in a 55 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. in Kerby.
- Rebecca J. Bassingthwaaighte, 41, was cited on a charge of speeding (68 mph ina 45 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. in Kerby.
- Michael Regan Fowler, 47, was cited on a charge of speeding (69 mph in a 55 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. at Draper Valley Road at 5:05 p.m.
- Colin Michael Clark, 65, was cited on a charge of speeding (79 mph in a 55 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. at mile marker 17.
- Robert Bleadon, 68, was cited on a charge of speeding (77 mph in a 55 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. at mile marker 16.
- Erik Daniel Olsen, 17, was cited on a charge of speeding (81 mph in a 55 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. at mile marker 17.
- At 6:28 p.m. William Francis Gerety, 73, was cited on a charge of speeding (74 mph in a 55 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. at one end of Draper Valley Road.
- Julie Ann Marie Nash, 39, was cited on a speeding charge (77 mph in a 55 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. at one end of Draper Valley Road at 7:52 p.m.
- A Schumacher Street resident complained of speeding drivers.
- On Redwood Hwy. at Burch Drive, Jessica Lynn Lara, 19, was cited on a charge of speeding (75 mph in a 55 mph zone) and warned regarding failure to carry and present a driver license and proof of insurance.
- Tuesday, Aug. 17
- In Kerby, someone with property adjacent to Illinois River complained that people in a Toyota pickup truck drove across his property to access the water. When advised that they were trespassing, two of them reportedly threw rocks at the caller and were “being belligerent.“
- Harley Thomas Tyrie, 21, was cited at 7:13 p.m. on a charge of speeding (82 mph in a 55 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. at one end of Draper Valley Road.
