  • Thursday, July 15
    • An O“Brien resident complained that her neighbor had made false accusations.
    • A Samarkand Drive resident reported that someone threw a homemade, soda bottle-based explosive device into her yard.
    • At the Josephine County Bldg. in Downtown Cave Junction, a man was warned against trespassing.
    • Intoxicated guys were contacted near McCaleb Ranch Scout Camp out Illinois River Road at 6:37 p.m.
    • Two children were taken into protective custody on W. Sixth Street in Kerby after a caller complained that they were not being monitored. Alicia Marie Lowie, 45, was cited on a charge of second-degree child neglect.
    • A 16-year-old Cave Junction girl was reported as a runaway juvenile person.
    • There was a complaint from a W. River Street resident that a man in a red pickup truck yelled and screamed profanities at her son.
    • On Caves Hwy. a caller stated that two dogs tried to attack him.
    • A transient camp was reported on county park property off Pinecone Drive.
    • Although bursts of gunfire were heard off Ken Rose Lane at 9:50 p.m., a deputy determined the matter to be a continuing property line dispute and nothing criminal.
    • A “highly intoxicated“ man was asked repeatedly to leave a N. Hussey Avenue address where he“d been trespassing today, a caller stated at 11:30 p.m.
    • On W. Sixth Street in Kerby, a man whose vehicle was stuck in water was asking for a ride, but the caller was bothered by his strange behavior.
  • Friday, July 16
    • Loud music and talking at a Honeybee Lane residence were the subjects of a complaint at 1:58 a.m.
    • A Takilma Road resident gave two marijuana plants that he“d found on his property to an officer so that the weeds could be destroyed.
    • Two men were said to be involved in a verbal dispute on N. Redwood Hwy. at 3:27 p.m.
    • Danny Marcus Barquera, 21, was cited on a charge of driving with a suspended license (DWS) at Six Mile Campground out Illinois River Road.
    • A caller from Kerby was advised of her options after complaining that her landlord had turned off the water and had come close to running her over.
    • The FBI was interested in knowing about an alleged threat to shoot, and an ultra-light aircraft pilot whose activities were irritating Deer Creek Road residents.
  • Saturday, July 17
    • Daniel R. Miller, 48, was cited on a speeding charge (71 mph in a 55 mph zone) in the 23000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 2:08 p.m.
    • Matthew J. Cortez, 20, was cited on charges of DWS, driving under the influence of an intoxicant, and minor in possession of alcohol on S. Old Stage Road at 6:06 p.m.
  • Sunday, July 18
    • Someone broke out a window at Subway restaurant in Downtown Cave Junction, the owner reported at 5:40 a.m. It was not known immediately if entry was made.
    • A Thompson Creek Road resident complained about a small aircraft flying low just after 6 a.m.
    • Michelle Suzzan Wise, 22, was cited on a charge of illegal parking on Illinois River Road at 12:44 p.m.
    • Daniel Paul Cartwright, 39, was cited on charge of DWS and driving uninsured on N. Redwood Hwy. at 3:01 p.m. His vehicle was impounded.
    • A report for second-degree criminal mischief was pending after a “repo man“ reported that a Cave Junction resident wouldn“t relinquish a vehicle and damaged the caller“s vehicle besides.
  • Monday, July 19
    • Someone on Sparky Way complained about a vehicle seen in the neighborhood several mornings in a row. The driver left the area, and the car was impounded as a traffic hazard.
    • In the 400 block of S. Redwood Hwy., a business owner complained that transients set up tents nearby.
    • A dog said to be guilty of having bitten someone was turned in “before it bites someone else.“
    • Someone reported having been the victim of a sexual assault at Hogue Meadows the night before.
    • Following investigation on Lamont Way, Vanessa Marie Dean, 24, was lodged in Josephine County Jail on charges of second-degree assault and fourth-degree domestic assault.
    • Loud music from a resident on Ollis Road was complained about at 7:45 p.m.
  • Tuesday, July 20
    • In Downtown CJ a caller stated, she was nearly struck by a vehicle as she crossed Redwood Hwy. at an intersection.
    • Deputies were called to a physical disturbance at a Honeybee Lane residence. All parties contacted were advised of their options, but “declined further action.“
    • It was reported that a man was lingering all morning near Sherier Road to serve his “ex“ with legal documents.
    • Neighbor erected a barbed wire fence on a caller“s property, it was claimed.
