Man dead in ATV wreck

A 57-year-old Pennsylvania man died Monday afternoon, July 5 as the result of an off-road vehicle accident in the Briggs Creek area west of Selma.
Lynn E. Knights, of Troy, was said to have been riding an ATV in the rugged Briggs Creek drainage some 8 miles northwest of Selma.
Knights was not wearing a helmet, according to Illinois Valley Fire District (IVFD) Battalion Chief Ken Gavlik, and died instantly when his vehicle rolled on top of him.
IVFD, American Medical Response, Josephine County Sheriff“s Office, and the U.S. Forest Service responded to assist with recovery of the victim.
