  • Thursday, July 1
    • A valley business owner reported that one of her clients was making threats against her via telephone.
    • In the 5000 block of Caves Hwy. a mother and daughter were advised of their options following a disagreement.
    • A heavy-set man with a large knife in hand was reported to have yelled at a woman to get in his car before leaving a parking lot on W. Watkins Street, according to a caller.
    • While assisting Rogue Area Drug Enforcement units in the 7000 block of Rockydale Road, a K-9 officer was deployed to detain a person.
    • After a verbal disturbance on Pinewood Way a woman and her children left for the evening.
  • Friday, July 2
    • A complainant said that a man appeared to be selling stolen items out of a pickup truck on a vacant lot in Downtown Cave Junction.
    • A child, 3, on S. Kerby Avenue was thought to be responsible for a 911 hang-up call at 1:10 p.m.
    • Two 16-year-old girls were detained at Shop Smart Food Warehouse on suspicion of having attempted to steal $20 worth of energy drinks, a caller stated.
    • James William Richardson, 37, was cited on charges of driving under the influence of an intoxicant (DUII) and open container in the 28000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 8:54 p.m.
    • On S. Sawyer Avenue a dog was running loose and chasing children. When contacted, the owner stated that she“d bring the animal inside.
    • At Lake Selmac, Shani Renee Fedosky, 24, was cited on a charge of possession of controlled substance (PCS) less than an ounce of marijuana; and Ronald Warren Bumgarner Jr., 32, was cited on a charge of driving with a suspended license (DWS).
  • Saturday, July 3
    • Miranda Rose Cowan, 18, was cited on a charge of speeding (67 mph in a 55 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. at Kerby Street at 1:20 a.m.
    • Someone reported a domestic violence situation on Millie Street, but a deputy only observed a mother and child playing.
    • On Frederick Court it was reported that a pair of mixed-breed dogs were chasing other animals and terrorizing children.
    • In Cave Junction a caller reported that another man had pushed and punched him, so he kicked his assailant in one leg.
    • At 4:46 p.m. at Illinois River Forks State Park, three young men were cited on a charge of PCS/less than an ounce of marijuana, and escorted out of the park.
    • Teen-agers were said to have been drinking and driving erratically near Six Mile Campground out Illinois River Road, according to a caller, but the campground was empty when a deputy arrived.
    • Near Forks Park, Debra Jo Meyers, 47, was cited on charges of DUII and PCS/methamphetamine. She was treated for a laceration by American Medical Response personnel before being taken to Josephine County Jail in Grants Pass.
    • A wallet found at Fall Creek on Illinois River was turned in.
    • Someone reported a vehicle stolen in the 400 block of S. Redwood Hwy., but later it was determined to have been “misplaced.“
    • A mine watchman up Eight Dollar Mountain Road stated that some people shot his steel chair full of holes from across Illinois River.
    • At 10:46 p.m. a shirtless man with a cardboard sign was reportedly jumping into traffic on Sauer“s Flat. No mention was made of how the sign read.
  • Sunday, July 4
    • Fireworks and possibly gun shots were heard near Lake Selmac at 12:49 a.m.
    • Balloons were listed as responsible for setting off a motion detector at the Junction Inn at 1:10 a.m.
    • A caller said that she“d heard someone walking and shooting a gun on Thompson Creek Road.
    • On Reeves Creek Road, Olena Hall Davis, 28; and Billie Jack Jones, 37, were cited on charges of DWS.
    • Jason Allen Estep, 26, was pulled over for failure to use a turn signal and cited on a charge of DWS in the 400 block of S. Redwood Hwy.
    • A stolen vehicle was found some 400 yards over an embankment a fair distance up Lone Mountain Road. Removal would require “extended winching,“ a deputy noted.
    • Theft of methadone and morphine pills from a Kerby Avenue residence was the topic of a complaint.
    • Jeffrey Robert Moore, 40, was cited on a charge of speeding (60 mph in a 45 mph zone) on S. Redwood Hwy. at 8:56 p.m.
    • Illegal fireworks were said to be going off at the green bridge on Eight Dollar Mountain Road.
  • Monday, July 5
    • Jamie Steven Ortega, 27, was cited on a charge of speeding (65 mph in a 45 mph zone) on S. Redwood Hwy. at 7:44 p.m.
    • Casey Dalton Branham, 31, was cited on a charge of speeding (69 mph in a 55 mph zone) at the 35-mile marker on Redwood Hwy. at 8:35 p.m.
    • In the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy. James Andrew Ross, 18, was cited on charges of speeding (66 mph in a 45 mph zone) and warned for expired registration.
    • Three people were advised of park hours at Jubilee Park at 9:52 p.m. They left.
    • Karen Jo Yanase, 52, was cited on a charge of speeding (68 mph in a 55 mph zone) near mile marker 24 on Redwood Hwy. at 10:25 p.m.
  • Tuesday, July 6
    • On Reeves Creek Road a caller complained that her neighbor had taken an antique garden tool and refused to return it. The item was recovered by a deputy.
    • A caller advised that two men, about whom he“d complained when they shot his chair, had returned to his location on Eight Dollar Mountain Road to threaten him. He thought they might be trying to steal his camera, because, according to him, he“d photographed them mining illegally.
    • William Croft Lancaster, 30, was cited on charges of no operator“s permit and expired license tags in the 2000 block of Rockydale Road at 9:08 p.m.
    • Stopped on N. Redwood Hwy. near Laurel Road, Wyatt Ian General, 22, was cited on a charge of DWS and lodged in county jail on a warrant charging failure to appear (FTA) on a charge of first-degree theft.
    • An explosion (or possibly just an M-80), set off by kids at a residence on Fir Drive, was complained about at 10:14 p.m.
    • A large oak tree was reported to have fallen across Lakeshore Drive in the 3200 block at 11:04 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 7
    • Charges of second-degree criminal mischief and reckless endangering were to be referred to the district attorney after a Laurel Road resident reported at 6:19 a.m. that his neighbor fired a bullet through the caller“s house.
    • On Lone Mountain Road a resident stated that for several days a man had been walking past his property, yelling at him to come talk.
    • Someone removed some $640 worth of boards from a fence in the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy., according to a complainant.
    • A large bull was said to be occupying the roadway in the 3000 block of Dick George Road at 1:15 p.m.
    • A deputy attempted to stop the driver of a green motorcycle for failure to maintain a lane of travel on Laurel Road. The motorcyclist fled eastward on Caves Hwy.
