IN THE SING - The Illinois Valley Chamber of Commerce free Concerts in the Park series will continue at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 8 at Jubilee Park in Cave Junction with a performance by Eastfork. MIX IT UP - The Chateau at Oregon Caves National Monument will host an All-Chamber Mixer on Friday, July 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. Chamber members, businesspersons and members of the public are welcome to attend. THWART THEFTS - How to combat identity theft is the topic for a free seminar, sponsored by SOFCU Community Credit Union. It will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 8 at Spring Meadow Retirement Home, 1357 Redwood Circle in Grants Pass. TALENT ALERT - A talent show again will be part of the 2010 Illinois Valley Lions Club Labor Day Festival held Sept. 4 through 6 at Jubilee Park in Cave Junction. Amateurs of all ages are encouraged to participate. The Junior Talent Show will be held Saturday, Sept. 4; intermediates will compete Sunday, Sept. 5; and adults on Monday, Sept. 6. NOTEPAD - Recipients of the IVHS Alumni & Friends scholarships for 2010 were announced during the annual breakfast at Jubilee Park on Sunday, July 4. Two academic scholarships worth $2,500 each went to Heidi Unger and Callie Harland; Clinten Robertson was awarded a $2,500 vocational scholarship; and Chris Culver received a $500 scholarship “ Summer story time at Illinois Valley Branch of Josephine Community Libraries Inc. will continue Saturday, July 10 at 1 p.m. with story-teller Morgan Jordan.
