  • Wednesday, June 16
    • Five windows were shot with a .BB gun at Lorna Byrne Middle School, it was reported. The estimated cost to replace the windows was said to be nearly $1,500. The images of two people were captured on video in connection with the incident.
    • A Cave Junction resident claimed that fraudulent purchases had been made online using her credit card.
    • Lisa Marie McClean, 22, was cited on a charge of speeding (74 mph in a 55 mph zone) somewhere in Illinois Valley.
    • A driver was warned about the use of a cell phone and speeding on Lakeshore Drive at 11:51 a.m.
    • Someone forcibly entered a shed on the Illinois Valley High School campus, although it was unknown what might have been taken. A report for third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree theft and second-degree burglary was pending.
    • Sometime during the past four days while she“d had friends over, some medication had gone missing from her purse, said a Caves Hwy. caller at 2:32 p.m.
    • A Schumacher Street resident stated that someone had shot .BBs at her window, putting holes through it and causing some $150 damage.
    • Roosevelt J. Cummings, 37, was cited on a charge of driving with a suspended license (DWS) somewhere in Illinois Valley.
    • Subsequent to being contacted in Downtown Cave Junction, Gregory Wayne Sampley, 57, was lodged in Josephine County Jail in Grants Pass on a warrant charging failure to appear (FTA) on an original charge of second-degree criminal mischief.
    • A W. River Street resident reported theft of jewelry from her residence.
    • Located at Jubilee Park, Jade C. Yandell, 20, was cited on a charge of possession of a controlled substance (PCS), less than an ounce of marijuana, and lodged in county jail on a charge of probation violation.
    • After it was reported that a young man was attempting to break the door of a business on Caves Hwy., Kyle Tims LaTourette, 17, was cited on a charge of minor in possession of alcohol. He was released to the custody of family members. His blood-alcohol content was listed as being .256.
    • At 11:05 p.m. an agitated woman phoned from Downtown Cave Junction to say that someone was chasing her. She then decided that she didn“t need deputy contact.
  • Thursday, June 17
    • An alarm sounded at Ray“s Food Place in Selma at 2:50 a.m. The building was checked by an employee and found secure at 3:10 a.m.
    • At 4:15 a.m. a car reported stolen from Grants Pass was discovered parked behind Ray“s by a deputy responding to the earlier alarm call.
    • Following a complaint of people drinking and panhandling near the Josephine County Bldg. in Downtown Cave Junction, Charles D. Brooks, 62, was cited on a warrant charging FTA on an original charge for driving under the influence of an intoxicant (DUII). He was lodged in county jail on the warrant, plus a charge of second-degree criminal trespass.
    • Kenneth Wendell Owens, 29, was cited on a charge of speeding (75 mph in a 55 mph zone) in the 23000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 3:06 p.m.
    • Theft of firewood from a location on McMullen Creek Road was reported.
    • Theft of a bicycle with rusty gears and two flat tires from a location on Ollis Road was complained about.
    • Jeremy Dillon Dutton, 28, was cited on charges of DWS and driving uninsured on N. Hussey Avenue at 6:44 p.m. His vehicle was impounded.
    • In the 10000 block of Takilma Road a caller stated that her neighbor had been shooting his gun, and that he“d come onto her property and refused to leave.
  • Friday, June 18
    • Luey Magic Ocean Glenn, 21, was arrested in Cave Junction on a probation violation detainer and lodged in county jail.
    • Samuel Melvin Schuh Jr., 50, was cited on a charge of speeding (71 mph in a 45 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. at Laurel Road at 7:42 p.m.
    • A caller reported seeing a woman “smacking“ a man as they walked on W. Watkins Street around 9 p.m.
    • A Merlot Drive resident said that a man carrying a bottle of alcohol had “just walked in“ to her residence around 10:30 p.m.
    • Loud music issuing from the main camp at a motorcycle event at Lake Selmac was complained about at 10:49 p.m.
    • Theft of a purse from a locked vehicle along Illinois River Road was noted.
  • Saturday, June 19
    • An intoxicated and unwelcome man would not leave an RV park on Caves Hwy. when asked, a caller stated at 1:54 p.m.
    • A caller complained that a man against whom she has a restraining order sent her a text message threatening to shoot her friends.
    • Theft of a semi-automatic handgun from a pickup truck on White Schoolhouse Road was noted.
    • Timothy Carl Ferguson, 49, was cited on a charge of PCS/less than an ounce of marijuana at Illinois River Forks State Park at 9:23 p.m.
    • Following an abandoned call from the 400 block of Cave Hwy. it was determined that the resident had been asleep atop the phone and it misdialed.
    • Antoine Roberson, 24, was cited on a charges of DWS and PCS/less than an ounce of marijuana on Redwood Hwy. in south Cave Junction at 10:23 p.m. His vehicle was impounded.
  • Sunday, June 20
    • An apparently intoxicated man was said to be walking on the roadway on Caves Hwy. at 7:51 p.m.
    • A drunk in a small pickup truck reportedly “peeled out“ leaving a N. Junction Avenue location at 8:36 p.m., damaging a lawn.
    • Jeremy James Sorensen, 26, was cited on charges of DUII, reckless driving and refusal to take a breath test near Jubilee Park at 10 p.m.
  • Monday, June 21
    • In Kerby at 10 a.m. a caller said that a man came into his shop upset about a vehicle and brandished pepper spray, but didn“t use it. He rode away on a bicycle.
    • A firearm previously reported stolen was said recovered by the owner.
    • A woman taken from a Downtown Cave Junction location to Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass after coughing up blood advised that she was kicked by her 11-year-old daughter earlier in the day.
