Community appreciated
From Vicki J. Snitzler
Superintendent, Oregon Caves National Monument
(and I.V. Rotarian)
I want to take a moment to recognize the residents of Illinois Valley for their response to the Oregon Caves National Monument Community Day on May 8, 2010.
As part of the event we asked that folks attending one of the free cave tours make a donation to Rotary First Harvest. I am pleased to report that the response to this request was tremendous. We collected more than 150 pounds of food and slightly more than $100.
These donations were taken to our area food banks for distribution.
I am proud to be a part of such a caring community. Everyone who participated is appreciated. We will plan a similar request for our 2011 Community Day.
We want to hear from you!
