  • Thursday, May 20
    • Tools were reported stolen from a garage in the 4000 block of Caves Hwy.
    • On W. River Street a woman complained of harassment by her adult son.
    • A Cave Junction resident grumbled about continuing telephonic harassment by another woman. A deputy left a voice mail message with the alleged harasser stating that the calls should not continue.
    • Although apparently injured by his girlfriend who he said attacked him with axes and crowbars, a caller on Lakeshore Drive refused medical assistance. The couple was separated.
    • Amber Regina Griffin, 20, was cited on a charge of speeding (64 mph in a 45 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. near Rockydale Road at 9:50 p.m.
  • Friday, May 21
    • Two Waldo Road residents were advised of domestic violence laws and civil options surrounding child custody issues.
    • At a service station in Downtown Cave Junction, a 20-something man driving a tan-and-brown pickup truck left without paying for some $20 worth of gasoline, said an employee. A deputy reached the suspect by phone, who seemed “evasive“ as to when he“d return to pay for the fuel.
    • Timothy Wayne Terry, 36, was cited on W. Stevenson Street on a charge of failure to obey a traffic control device and failure to carry proof of insurance at 11 a.m.
    • A man was warned about trespassing at St. Mathias Episcopal Church.
    • On Sawyer Avenue a driver was warned about using an electronic communication device while driving.
    • Michael David Heikka, 45, was cited on a charge of driving with a suspended license (DWS) on N. Redwood Hwy. at River Street at 9:48 p.m. His vehicle was impounded.
    • William Ivan Cross, 60, was cited on a charge of driving under the influence of an intoxicant (DUII) on Caves Hwy. at 10:46 p.m.
    • In the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 10:51 p.m a resident complained that an 18-wheeler had been parked for several hours with its engine idling. The driver agreed to turn off his rig“s engine while he was napping.
  • Saturday, May 22
    • Christopher Culver, 18, was cited on charges of resource damage and reckless operation of a motor vehicle at a camp at Hogue Meadows out Takilma Road.
    • After stopping to assist a motorist with a stalled vehicle on S. Redwood Hwy. a deputy cited driver Dawn Andrea Soule on charges of DWS and no insurance.
    • After losing radar contact with a single-engine airplane, an affiliate of the FAA phoned to find out if perhaps it had landed at Illinois Valley Airport. It hadn“t.
    • A girl, 15, was reported as a runaway juvenile person by her mother.
    • A deputy responded to a “mutually antagonistic“ incident between family members at a Rockydale Road residence.
    • Spayne Mary Noel Martinez, 19, was cited on a charge of speeding (60 mph in a 45 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. at River Street at 10:05 p.m.
    • A report for eluding, third-degree criminal mischief and failure to leave name at the scene of an accident was pending after a vehicle failed to yield for a traffic stop and wrecked on Walters Drive at 10:48 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 23
    • On E. River Street a resident reported that a large rock had been thrown through a double-paned window.
    • Two vehicles were reported repeatedly speeding past Evergreen Elementary School at 3:24 p.m.
    • A vehicle that had been reported stolen from Grants Pass was recovered in Kerby. Those occupying the vehicle said that they bought it from someone in the valley, but were cooperative and the truck was returned to the registered owner.
    • A weed trimmer and miscellaneous mining tools were reported taken from a Finch Road location.
    • A caller complained that he“d awakened inside a bus at a camp at the end of Kerby Mainline Road to find his pants halfway down and a woman on top of him. She yelled at him when he woke up, he said, and now she and a man who reside on the property were threatening to burn his sister“s house.
    • Bill Leon Reed, 49, was cited on a charge of driving uninsured near Redwood Hwy. milepost 36 at 9:02 p.m.
    • Dan Pulcrano, 51, was cited on a charge of speeding in the 29000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 9:28 p.m.
  • Monday, May 24
    • From the 900 block of Caves Hwy. a caller said that a man had dumped 20 loads of debris from dismantled sheds without permission.
    • A Selma resident reported that a friend was harassing her over the Internet.
    • A Westside Road resident said his neighbor threw rocks at him at the river in a property line dispute.
  • Tuesday, May 25
    • Three Mill Road resident Jeffrey G. Rooney, 43, was lodged in Josephine County Jail in Grants Pass on a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault.
    • A heavy-duty drill motor was reported to have been removed from an open shed on Rockydale Road.
    • Two vehicles were said “turning broadies“ on undeveloped property on N. Sawyer Avenue.
    • Following a single-vehicle crash on Holland Loop at 7:47 p.m., Pamela White, 47, was cited on a charge of DUII. Her blood-alcohol content was listed as .12.
