From our weekly issue dated May 26, 2010
A series of resolutions was passed by the Cave Junction City Council 5-0 during its 20-minute meeting on Monday night, May 24 at city hall.
Resolution 738 allowed for the transfer of $15,000 from the city“s general fund contingency to the general fund, materials and services, ground maintenance fund.
Mayor Don Moore said that the transfer is necessary to pave the parking lot at city hall. He said that prices for asphalt and labor are down, giving the city the chance to make some much-needed improvements.
“This is the time to do it,“ Moore said.
Also approved was Resolution 739, which enables the city to enter into a contract with City County Insurance Services to become a member of its trust for workers“ compensation for a three-year period beginning July 1.
Resolution 740 extended the city“s Workers Compensation coverage to volunteers, and Resolution 741 gave the city“s consent for Ron Fox of Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development Inc. to serve as the manager for the county Enterprise Zone. That zone includes the city within its boundaries.
The council“s next meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 14 at city hall.
