- Wednesday, May 12
- Some dude stated that a man who“d purchased a pool cue from a Downtown Cave Junction business was complaining that the stick was crooked, and he wanted his money back. Also, the caller said, the man wanted to fight. A deputy examined the cue and found it to be “straight and true.“ But in need of a new tip.
- A Cave Junction resident complained of having received approximately 13 obscene phone calls from an unknown man overnight.
- An O“Brien resident complained that the folks from whom she purchased her property were continuing to use her driveway as their easement.
- In Selma a woman reported that her wallet was stolen after she left it at a bar.
- Although loud music and racing vehicles in the vicinity of Hanby Lane were complained about at 10:52 p.m., no problem was located.
- Thursday, May 13
- Contacted off Honeybee Lane, James Steven Tow, 34, was cited on a charge of probation violation and lodged in Josephine County Jail in Grants Pass.
- An anonymous caller said that a group of minors were drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana on Barlow Street near Illinois River. The group was not located.
- Theft of a black Redline trick bicycle was reported on S. Hussey Avenue.
- Brandi M. Bergeron was cited on a charge of driving under the influence of an intoxicant (DUII) on E. Lister Street at 11:07 p.m. The vehicle was impounded. Bergeron“s blood-alcohol content was .13, it was noted.
- Friday, May 14
- David B. Cavaness, 42, was cited on charges of speeding (72 mph in a 55 mph zone) and no operator license at mile marker 24 on Redwood Hwy. at 11:07 a.m.
- A 16-year-old valley resident was reported as a runaway by her father.
- Gayl Adrienne Bohey, 68, was cited on a charge of failure to obey a traffic control device (FTOTCD; a “Stop“ sign), in the 26000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 11:29 a.m.
- Krista Nicole Haban, 19, was cited on a charge of speeding (61 mph in a 45 mph zone) in the 26000 block of Redwood Hwy.
- California driver Brandi Lee Natt, 39, was cited on a charge of speeding (69 mph in a 55 mph zone) near mile marker 36 on Redwood Hwy. at 12:05 p.m.
- At mile marker 37 a short while later, James Robert Hartman, 62, was cited on a charge of speeding (75 mph in a 55 mph zone).
- David Levison, 46, was cited on a charge of speeding (56 mph in a 45 mph zone) around mile marker 30 on Redwood Hwy. at 12:41 p.m.
- Stephen Joseph Dreher, 51, was cited on a charge of speeding and warned for expired registration at mile 32 on Redwood Hwy.
- Mary Kay Gehring, 53, was cited on a charge of speeding (63 mph in a 45 mph zone) in the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy.
- A 12-year-old boy was cited on a charge of third-degree theft following an attempt to steal some $24 worth of items from Shop Smart Food Warehouse. He also was warned against trespassing at the store for the next six months.
- Neighbors on Pinewood Way complained about one another“s driving habits and loose dogs.
- Pushing among teen-agers gathered in Jubilee Park was reported by a nearby resident. Upon a deputy’s arrival, those present said that the two responsible for the disturbance had left.
- A man stated that someone just drove off with his car, which was parked in the 400 block of S. Redwood Hwy. The caller believed he knew who was responsible.
- Motorcycles and a brown Toyota pickup truck were said to be trespassing on private property between Daisy Hill Road and Schumacher Street.
- Saturday, May 15
- A Draper Valley Road resident said that her “trigger-happy“ ex-boyfriend had threatened to shoot her and her daughter, and burn the house.
- At 10:44 a.m. it was reported that an ultralight aircraft had crashed into Lake Selmac. The pilot, identified at Jack Lee Pittman, 67, refused medical attention. The aircraft later was removed from the bottom of the lake. A pending report was to be referred to the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
- Washington state driver Jacob Mar Rivera Lee, 20, was cited on a charge of speeding (77 mph in a 55 mph zone) on S. Redwood Hwy. at 9:12 p.m.
- Following a single-vehicle crash on Westside Road at 11:07 p.m., Joe Antone Rodriguez Jr., 22, was cited on charges of DUII, driving with a suspended license and reckless driving.
- After a reported disturbance at a campsite off Eight Dollar Mountain Road near the green bridge, Robert Lee Green, 38, was lodged in county jail on a charge of probation violation.
- Found sitting alongside Redwood Hwy. in Selma, Thomas Joey Lints, 51, was lodged in county jail on a charge of probation violation.
- Sunday, May 16
- While walking on what he believed to be a public access road to BLM property, a caller said that a man came out of a cabin, took the caller“s walking stick and told him not to proceed. The man pointed the stick at the caller, escorted him back to Redwood Hwy. and followed the caller and his friend to a store nearby, where the man circled the parking lot.
- A vehicle stolen out of Del Norte County was discovered abandoned off Finch Road in Kerby.
- On Addison Lane a caller reported that a woman with long, reddish hair who appeared to be under the influence of something was screaming and acting as though bugs were crawling on her.
- Four people were warned about the 14-day stay limit at a camp site off Eight Dollar Mountain Road near the green bridge.
- On E. River Street a 61-year-old man, who was said to be intoxicated, fell several times and was bleeding from his head. A deputy assisted while medical help was refused.
- Tuesday, May 18
- Dogs running loose in the 25000 block of Redwood Hwy. were said to be aggressively charging at pedestrians at 7:07 a.m.
- An alarm sounded at the Cave Junction DMV office due to an employee error.
- A Gold Canyon Drive resident reported that her neighbors are harassing her by continually filing complaints about her property with various government agencies.
- Near Wild Park Lane a caller stated his neighbor was harassing him and that he believes that the neighbor cut his barbed-wire fence.
- New construction equipment was being peddled “really cheap“ by a man in a Texas-plated pickup truck, a caller stated. She thought this suspicious.
- An ATV was left on a Holland Loop property.
- On Norman Road a citizen stated that a man in a blue Jeep Cherokee drove over a mailbox. The driver appeared to be intoxicated, the caller said.
- From Takilma, a woman complained that her landlord had shaken her small dog. He said that he removed the dog from the residence by the scruff of its neck because he“d asked the woman to remove it several times and she“d refused.
- Wednesday, May 19
- A county housing department employee complained that she was pushed off the porch of a Kerby residence when she arrived for an inspection.
