JoCo SAR assists in rescue

A missing boy, 13, was located by searchers from Josephine and Jackson counties on Thursday, April 22, said Josephine County Sheriff Gil Gilbertson.

The boy, Cody D. Jones-Barnard, had been missing in Klamath County for 26 hours. He was located near his residence, cold and hungry.

“This is another successful example of the California/Oregon Regional Search And Rescue organization,“ said Gilbertson. “It“s a collaboration of seven counties.“

“Counties from all over Oregon sent searchers or were preparing to send searchers and resources to assist the effort.“
