“Preseason kinks“ plague Cougs

The past week was not the best for the Illinois Valley High School varsity baseball team, as it strives to work out preseason kinks before facing Skyline Conference rivals.
On Monday, April 5, the Cougars headed to North Medford to face that school“s junior varsity squad. Illinois Valley lost 13-3.
A home game against Gold Beach was scheduled for Wednesday, April 7, but was canceled.
Friday, April 9, the team went to South Umpqua and fell 12-2.
“We“ve been getting thumped pretty bad lately,“ said coach Bob Johnson.
A double-header at Phoenix High School is scheduled for Saturday, April 17, and the Cougars will host Henley on Tuesday, April 20.
