- Wednesday, March 31
- A Cave Junction bank customer reported that her debit card had been fraudulently used to purchase something via the Internet.
- Michael Halpern, 63, was cited on a charge of speeding in a school zone (29 mph in a 20 mph zone) on W. River Street at 1:48 p.m.
- Brett Wiley Proudfit, 57, was cited on a charge of violation of the basic rule/speeding (63 mph in a 45 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. near Westside Road at 3:52 p.m.
- It appeared that someone was trespassing at a vacant residence in the 400 block of Dick George Road.
- Lisa Wachowicz, 29, was cited to appear in Cave Junction Municipal Court on a charge of speeding (43 mph in a 30 mph zone) on N. Redwood Hwy. at Lister Street at 4:41 p.m.
- Michael Clyde McDonald, 57, was cited on a charge of driving with a suspended license (DWS) and open container of alcoholic beverage in a vehicle on N. Redwood Hwy. at 5:27 p.m. A passenger, Jesse McDonald, 34, also was cited on a charge of open container.
- Christopher Murdock Birdsall, 40, was cited on a charge of speeding (68 mph in a 55 mph zone) on Lakeshore Drive at 8:01 p.m.
- Dennis Leroy Dewyke, 72, was cited on a charge of failure to drive within a lane of traffic in the 29000 block of Redwood Hwy.
- Jack Marcel Edward Dionne, 19, was cited on a charge of speeding (83 mph in a 55 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. at Pinewood Way at 8:48 p.m.
- At 8:53 p.m. a deputy responded to locate motorists with a stranded vehicle on Briggs Valley Road and provided them a ride to Junction Inn in Cave Junction.
- Thursday, April 1
- There was a report by a Cave Junction resident that another man followed through on a threat to ram his vehicle.
- A N. Junction Avenue resident complained that a neighbor drives an unmuffled pickup truck at all hours, racing up and down the street.
- From Patton Bar Road came a concerned call about the occupant of a van parked near a school bus stop for three days. The man was said to be a transient.
- A caller reported that he was assaulted near Jubilee Park. The incident was closed after no follow-up contact with the complainant.
- On Holland Loop at 7:43 p.m., Shane Anthony Rose, 22, was cited on a charge of DWS.
- A Selma resident complained that her dog had been mauled by a pack of pit bulls.
- Subsequent to a traffic stop, Marvin E. McLaughlin Jr., 50, was cited on a charge of no insurance on Caves Hwy. near Old Stage Road at 11:08 p.m.
- Friday, April 2
- A caller stated that someone was driving across his property on Vineyard Place and tracking dirt and debris onto the roadway. He was going to post “No Trespassing“ signs.
- A large tree was down across Westside Road, a caller reported around 1 p.m.
- Subsequent to a pursuit in the 6000 block of Caves Hwy. a driver lost control of his vehicle and fled into brush. Later the driver phoned to report his vehicle as stolen.
- In connection with the preceding incident, when the complainant, Francis Gwydion, 16, met with a deputy, he was cited on charges of no valid operator license, no liability insurance and speeding (74 mph in a 55 mph zone). He also admitted to running from the scene in panic and that the stolen vehicle report was false.
- A Caves Hwy. resident complained of a possible squatter on his property. The subject in question was not located.
- Jimmie L. Martin, 62, was cited on a charge of speeding (49 mph in a 45 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. at Laurel Road.
- Two people were warned for illegal parking on Millie Street around midnight. They moved their cars.
- Saturday, April 3
- William Clark Mann, 59, was cited on a charge of driving under the influence of an intoxicant (DUII), open container of alcoholic beverage in a vehicle and DWS on W. River Street at 12:59 a.m. His blood-alcohol content was listed as .16.
- A Hogue Drive resident complained of harassment by her landlord.
- Ten people were warned regarding shooting across a waterway off Eight Dollar Mountain Road at 6:54 p.m. And they were told to clean up their mess.
- Children riding helmetless in a go-kart on Sherwood Avenue were reported to lawmen at 2:53 p.m.
- Following a vehicle chase that wound up on N. Junction Avenue at 8:39 p.m., Anthony Grebisz, 21, was lodged in Josephine County Jail in Grants Pass on charges of failure to appear (FTA) on an original charge of obstructing police.
- In connection with the preceding incident, Anthony Grebisz was cited on charges of DUII, attempted eluding, reckless driving, speeding, two counts of failure to obey a traffic control device, DWS, driving uninsured and unreasonable tire noise.
- Sunday, April 4
- Someone was warned to not drive on Eight Dollar Mountain due to conditions caused by snow.
- A vehicle was parked in front of a vacant residence on Lone Mountain Road for close to an hour, according to a neighbor.
- Monday, April 5
- A Selma resident reported that an unknown person used his debit card to pay the unknown person“s telephone bill.
- Gerald Leroy Caldwell, 42, was cited on a charge of DUII after a single-vehicle collision with “a pile of dirt“ near Pietro“s Restaurant on Caves Hwy. at 6:56 p.m.
- A caller stated that a motorcycle rider threatened her husband after he confronted the biker trespassing on their N. Old Stage Road property.
- On Patton Bar Road a resident requested that a man who“d been living in his van be asked to move on.
- Tuesday, April 6
- On Aries Lane a woman elected to leave a location following a verbal disagreement.
- Paul Cecil Miller, 35, was cited on a charge of expired tags on Redwood Hwy. at Draper Valley Road at 10:15 a.m.
- A Kirkham Road couple were engaged in a verbal disturbance.
- The driver of a blue vehicle was said to have run up on the curb on W. Watkins Street in Cave Junction, nearly striking someone there.
- On Finch Road a woman complained of having been attacked by loose dogs.
- Nathan A. Smith, 34, was cited on a charge of DWS on Redwood Hwy. at Rockydale Road at 9:41 p.m.
- Wednesday, April 7
- An Aries Lane couple were said to be chasing one another in vehicles around 11:30 a.m.
- A caller reported that his phone number was possibly “hijacked“ and used in a credit card scam.
- Jess M. Keating, 35, and Gabriel Williams, 34, was each cited on a charge of failure to wear a seat belt on Lakeshore Drive at 1:57 p.m.
- Joshua Dangerfield, 25, was cited on a charge of DWS on Holland Loop at 3:30 p.m. His vehicle was impounded.
- Her landlord comes to her residence and peeks in the windows, a Laurel Road resident stated.
- Subsequent to being detained at Jubilee Park, Jade Charleton Yandell, 20, was lodged in county jail on a charge of violation of a no-contact order.
- Thursday, April 8
- A Kerby resident with new telephonic gear phoned the emergency dispatch center in Grants Pass to “check the 911“ at 8:52 a.m.
- Theft of a sluice box, gold pans and other equipment from a location on Josephine Creek was reported.
- Galen Eli Aller, 62, was cited on a charge of violation of a municipal ban on consumption of alcoholic beverages on public premises at Jubilee Park at 1:39 p.m.
- Theft of a video surveillance monitor from a Kerby business was reported.
- Fred Elmer Schelling, 45, was cited on a charge of speeding (39 mph in a 25 mph zone) on E. River Street at 3:28 p.m.
- On Linkhart Drive in Selma a caller reported that two pit bulls attacked another animal.
- A Hogue Drive resident was advised of her options for a property dispute.
- There was a call from the 500 block of S. Redwood Hwy. that a man was looking for heavy equipment in the vicinity and that the complainant“s husband was sworn at.
