Symphony has free tickets for students

Free tickets are available to students for the Rogue Valley Symphony“s performance of Mozart“s Symphony No. 23, Griegs“s Concerto for Piano featuring guest pianist Marina Lomazov, and Brahm“s Symphony No 2 under the direction of guest conductor Kyle Pickett.
Pickett is the “last of five talented conductors“ competing this season to become the music director of Rogue Valley Symphony.
There are 140 vouchers for Josephine County students to attend the concert for free at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 25 at the Grants Pass High School Performing Arts Center, 830 N.E. 9th St. Tickets are subject to availability and are distributed on a first come-first served basis.
Vouchers for free tickets are distributed to area schools and music teachers, and might also be obtained from www.rvsymphony.org.
Connecting-with-the-Classics vouchers are available from the Education Programs link on the Website. Students must arrive with a completed voucher 45 minutes prior to the start of the concert. Each voucher is valid for one student who must be accompanied by an adult, who may also attend the concert for free. All seats are reserved.

The student voucher program has been implemented by Grants Pass Friends of the Symphony as one of the organization“s many efforts to educate and encourage youth to attend live orchestra concerts. The Rogue Valley Symphony Orchestra is supported by 2009-2010 season sponsors Jim Collier, Ashland Springs Hotel, and Fred Meyer stores.
