  • Thursday, March 25
    • At 10 a.m. a complainant said that the driver of a blue SUV had been “doing doughnuts“ on Hanby Lane. Subsequently Alex S. Stevens, 22, was cited on a charge of second-degree criminal mischief, warned of his driving habits and asked to move on. (But more carefully).
    • John Fredrick Vinatieri, 64, was cited on a charge of speeding (74 mph in a 55 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. near mile marker 26.
    • Having locked her keys in her vehicle, a driver left it parked overnight near a Downtown Cave Junction business. The next day she found that someone had tried to break a window using a chunk of concrete. Her thought was that they were trying to steal her car.
    • Found slumped over the steering wheel of his truck on Hussey Avenue at 7:44 p.m., Felipe Escobedo Jr., 53, was cited on charges of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, and open container of alcoholic beverage in a vehicle. His blood-alcohol content (BAC) was listed at .22.
    • Anthony A. Canas, 20, was cited on a charge of speeding (45 mph in a 30 mph zone) on N. Redwood Hwy. at 11:43 p.m.
  • Friday, March 26
    • At 1:12 a.m. a Cave Junction resident wanted her boyfriend, who was intoxicated and belligerent, removed from the N. Junction Avenue residence they share. He left of his own accord.
    • Theft of a two-stroke Kawasaki dirt bike and fuel from the front yard of a N. Boundry Avenue residence was reported at 10:45 a.m.
    • A Selma resident reported that a neighbor“s pack of dogs attacked and killed her pregnant mare. Josephine County Animal Control was notified of the incident, and the horse owner was advised of her options.
    • At 8 p.m., Christopher Joseph Moynagh, 44, was cited on a charge of speeding (73 mph in a 55 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. in the 22000 block. While a deputy had Moynagh detained, another driver stopped to complain about his driving habits.
    • Samantha Lynn Edwards, 19, was cited on a charge of speeding (61 mph in a 45 mph zone) on S. Redwood Hwy. near Hamilton Lane at 10:18 p.m.
    • Todd Christopher Eldridge, 34, was cited on charges of speeding (71 mph in a 55 mph zone) and driving with a suspended license (DWS).
  • Saturday, March 27
    • A burglary at CJ Subway was reported at 8:10 a.m. The office was ransacked, said the caller; and a safe, cell phone and laptop computer were destroyed.
    • Mikel Anthony Haynes, 44, was cited on charges of initiating a false report, improper use of 911, disorderly conduct and four counts of reckless endangering after it was reported that a man was walking in Downtown CJ with a gun pointed at his head. Haynes had an initial BAC of .33 when transported to county jail in Grants Pass.
    • On E. River Street, a large party and gunshots (not so large) were complained about at 5:41 p.m. A deputy found nothing amiss when the area was checked.
    • Non-specified threats and a dispute over some sort of romantic relationship were reported at 5:50 p.m. on N. Redwood Hwy.
    • A black Harley Davidson motorcycle had been on the same location on a parking lot on S. Redwood Hwy. for a few days, a caller said. He thought it suspicious.
    • Following a report of an altercation on N. Redwood Hwy., Zoe Anna Barclay, 48, was cited on a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault, and transported to county jail.
  • Sunday, March 28
    • On the parking lot of a Downtown CJ restaurant a driver backed into her vehicle; then refused to provide any information before driving away, a woman stated.
  • Monday, March 29
    • Problems with a knocked-downed fence, roaming cattle and an irate neighbor were reported by a White Schoolhouse Road resident at 8:35 a.m.
    • A Selma resident said that there was an unauthorized charge to his debit card.
    • A Cave Junction resident stated that a man with scruffy facial hair came to his door and advised him to contact the “leaders of the Mormon Church.“ He thought this to be suspicious.
  • Tuesday, March 30
    • At 2:30 p.m. a caller stated that a white Bronco occupied by two men was parked on a vacant lot off Wells Drive. The caller stated that the passenger appeared to be throwing up.
    • A 3-year-old child playing with a telephone at a residence on Dick George Road was thought responsible for a 911 hang-up call at 7:55 p.m.
    • David Lee Lamb, 19, was cited on a charge of DWS, and warned for a defective driver-side headlight, and failure to carry proof of insurance.
