  • Thursday, March 18
    • People in the 400 block of Dick George Road were at a residence which is supposed to be vacant, a caller stated at 5:07 a.m.
    • At 9:46 a.m. a man entered the Illinois Valley Safe House Alliance office on S. Kerby Avenue and demanded to see someone who wasn“t there. He hung around outside the rest of the day, causing the staff some concern.
    • A young boy was thought responsible for a 911 hang up call from S. Junction Avenue at 5:08 p.m.
    • Following a complaint at 5:52 p.m. of a “drunk, out causing problems“ at High Pines Trailer Park in Kerby, Joy Leola Waddell, 28, was cited on a charge of fourth-degree assault. She also was “trespassed“ from the neighborhood.
    • Three youngsters, ages 7 to 12 years, were advised against riding non-street legal motorbikes on Addison Lane following a complaint.
  • Friday, March 19
    • On Queen of Bronze Road a complainant reported that someone was relocating survey stakes.
    • An 8-year-old girl reportedly was driving a go-kart on a county road and private driveway on Aries Lane. The child“s mother was warned to keep her daughter and the kart off public roads and the neighbor“s property.
    • Following a traffic complaint on Aries Lane, some folks who apparently were unhappy about it were yelling at their neighbor, according to a caller.
    • A Kerby business reported that a $400 check was returned as “Account Closed.“ A report for negotiating a bad check was pending.
    • Back on Aries Lane, some sort of verbal disturbance among neighbors was reported by a Hays Cut-Off resident, who stated at 8:51 p.m. that the arguing parties were in her yard.
    • After confronting a man for calling her daughter a “filthy name,“ a Kerby woman said that the man hit her son, 19. The man insisted that the 19-year-old took a swing at him. A report for fourth-degree assault was to follow.
    • Around 11 p.m. three people were contacted on Dick George Road at a residence which is supposed to be vacant. They were told to leave and retrieve their belongings at another time.
    • At 11:15 p.m. a deputy reported that a deer collided with one rear quarter panel of his patrol car in the 1500 block of Dick George Road, causing damage, apparently to the car. No report on the deer“s condition.
  • Saturday, March 20
    • The Dick George Road saga continued, as two people who wanted to retrieve belongings were warned for trespassing at a residence.
    • Melody Steele, 53, was cited on a charge of speeding (65 mph in a 45 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. at Gold Canyon Road at 3:13 p.m.
    • Christine Marie Lambert, date of birth not listed, was cited on a charge of speeding (53 mph in a 30 mph zone) on N. Redwood Hwy. at Cottage Park Drive at 5:31 p.m.
    • At 8:34 p.m. a motorist on N. Redwood Hwy. was warned for a defective headlight. He advised that his vehicle had just struck a deer north of town. The deputy located the deer departed and removed it from the roadway.
    • On N. Redwood Hwy. at 8:56 p.m. Edward Allen Bashford, 47, was cited on a charge of no valid operator“s permit, and warned for speeding, and failure to carry and present proof of insurance and registration. The vehicle he was driving was impounded.
    • James M. Blair, 60, was cited on a charge of speeding (64 mph in a 45 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. in Kerby at 10:42 p.m.
  • Sunday, March 21
    • A 15-year-old girl was cited on a charge of third-degree theft after reportedly taking lemonade and a cupcake from Cave Junction Dairy Queen.
  • Monday, March 22
    • A street sign was found pulled out of the ground on Caves Hwy. at Caves Avenue. Cave Junction Public Works was notified.
    • On Laurel Road a woman reported that her estranged husband had entered his former residence sometime during the past week in violation of a restraining order. He brought the “remotes“ back, she said, and left his business card.
    • A Lone Mountain Road resident said that her neighbor is upset because she cleared brush and debris from her side of the fence line. Now she can see him glaring at her when he comes outside, and he yells and cusses, she said, making her uneasy.
    • A continuing problem was reported with dirt bikes, ATVs and 4x4 pickup trucks speeding along the power line road between Holton Creek Road and Kerby Mainline.
    • Again regarding the 400 block of Dick George Road, a caller said at 10:34 p.m. that it appeared that evicted tenants were again trespassing.
  • Tuesday, March 23
    • Having left her wallet containing cash, driver license and miscellaneous cards in the rest room at Shop Smart Food Warehouse for “approximately four minutes,“ a caller was dismayed to find it gone.
    • Two men were warned against criminal trespassing in the 900 block of Caves Hwy. after a verbal disturbance.
    • Yazeed Hamad Algubllan, 19, was cited on a charge of speeding (66 mph in a 45 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. at mile 30 at 9:43 p.m.
    • Joseph R. Githler, 31, was cited on Redwood Hwy. in the 24000 block on charges of driving with a suspended license, speeding (67 mph in a 55 mph zone) and driving uninsured. The vehicle he was driving was impounded.
  • Wednesday, March 24
    • Theft of a “Stop“ sign, post and street signs from Schumacher Street was reported. The estimated value was given as around $500.
    • Darrel A. Dearman, 67, was cited on a charge of open container in a vehicle on River Street at 4:22 p.m.
    • In the 10000 block of Takilma Road a man said that the son of his landlord came into his residence and threw him into a wall and onto the floor. The complainant was advised of his options regarding a restraining order.
    • Telephonic harassment by a soon-to-be former landlord in the 28000 block of Redwood Hwy. was reported by a tenant, who stated that she“d received a 30-day notice to move out only one week ago.
    • Steven Thomas Olson, 27, was cited on a charge of speeding (60 mph in a 45 mph zone) and driving uninsured on S. Redwood Hwy. at 10:15 p.m.
