Gail Ellen Scott

Gail Scott, 69, died of pneumonia Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010 at Auburn Faith Memorial Hospital. She was surrounded by family members.

A gathering to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, March 20 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Trout Pavilion at Lake Selmac in Selma.

Donations can be made to an art program to be established in Mrs. Scott“s name at Illinois Valley Head Start in Cave Junction. Send contributions to Finance Director, Southern Oregon Head Start, P.O. Box 3697, Central Point OR 97502.

Mrs. Scott was born in Cleveland, Ohio and lived her adult life in Northern California and in Oregon. She loved to garden and cook. She volunteered for many causes, from rescuing birds from coastal oil spills to delivering food from her garden to Senior Gleaners, to working to preserve the natural beauty of Oregon. She always tried to help others.

She was best known for her sharp wit and fun-loving nature. She brought a smile to all who knew her with her lively spirit and irreverent humor. She was a caring person who will be gravely missed and fondly remembered.

Mrs. Scott is survived by her husband of 31 years, John Scott; her sister, Beth Russell; brother Lyle Williamson; four children and their spouses: Bill & Elena Bicker, Lisa & Jeff Martin, Gwyn & Rex Hime, and Zach & Jen Scott; and five grandchildren.
