Warren Lowell Mayfield, 82, of Cave Junction, passed away peacefully at his home on Jan. 21, 2010.

Per his request, no service will be held.

Mr. Mayfield was born in Morley, Mo. on April 2, 1927. He moved with his family to Selma in 1929. In the 1930s, they moved to the Holland Loop Ranch, which was his home for the remainder of his life. He attended elementary classes in a one-room school house on Holland Loop, and graduated from Kerby Union High School in 1946.

He was a talented horseman and loved being a rancher and farmer. His greatest enjoyments were socializing with friends and spending time with his family. He will be missed by many.

Mr. Mayfield is survived by his four loving daughters, Denise Gates, of Brookings; Deborah Hefty, of Bellevue, Wash.; Teresa Lackey, of Bend; and Tamara Mayfield, of Canby, Ore.; an adopted son, Richard Miner Mayfield, of Cave Junction; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Rick Noel

Donald Richard “Rick“ Noel, 54, of Cave Junction died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010 at Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

He was born October 16, 1955 in Grants Pass, to Don & Virginia Noel. He grew up in Arizona before moving back to Cave Junction in 1983. On July 22, 1978 he married Rhonda Snodgrass, who survives. Mr. Noel was self-employed and worked in the forestry construction business.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends at his second home in Roosevelt Lake, Ariz.

In addition to his wife, survivors include four daughters: Kristy Noel, of Cave Junction; Misty Kiene, of White City; Kila Lauerman, of Portland; and Tiffany McLean, of Cave Junction; his mother, Virginia Noel of Showlow, Ariz.; three sisters: Glinda Fabok of Roosevelt; Linda Bumkens, of Bernalillo, NM, Patty Weis, of Pinetop, Ariz.; three sons-in-law, Nathan Robinson, Jesse Kiene, James Lauerman; nine grand-children, and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Rick was preceded in death by a daughter Amy Noel, and his father, Don Noel.
