A woeful season for the Illinois Valley High School girls varsity basketball team continued with a pair of losses at home last week. On Tuesday, Feb. 16, the Lady Cougars hosted the Hidden Valley Mustangs at the Ken Mann Memorial Gymnasium in Cave Junction.

That game resulted in a 59-17 loss for Illinois Valley. Juniors Laurissa Tausaga and Chelsea Bullock both led the Lady Cougars in scoring, with 6 points apiece.

The North Valley High School Knights visited Cave Junction on Friday, Feb. 19, and came away with an 86-25 win. In the first quarter, the Lady Cougars were outscored 25-2. Senior Beckah Kaberline was the top scorer for Illinois Valley, with 8 points. Coach Steve Marsden reacts to the final score at the conclusion of the meeting with the Knights.
