  • Wednesday, Feb. 10
    • A 1-year-old child was thought responsible for a 911 hang-up call at 1:34 p.m. from an address in the 23000 block of Redwood Hwy.
    • Joanna M. Gavlik, 29, was cited on a charge of speeding (38 mph in a 25 mph zone) on E. River Street at 3:09 p.m.
    • Kayla E. Young, 18, was cited on a charge of speeding (37 mph in a 25 mph zone) on E. River Street at 3:24 p.m.
    • At Jubilee Park at 4:43 p.m., Galen Eli Aller, 61, whose birthday apparently was near, was cited on a charge of having alcohol on public premises.
    • Theft of items was reported from a storage shed near Z Coffee on N. Redwood Hwy.
    • Gunshots were reported in the 8000 block of Takilma Road at 6:38 p.m.
    • An O“Brien resident complained of prank phone calls she“d received from a Grants Pass location.
    • Tami Ellen Duhaime, 50, was cited on a charge of driving with a suspended license (DWS) on S. Redwood Hwy. at 8:11 p.m.
  • Thursday, Feb. 11
    • A caller stated that he found what he thought was an explosive device in a backpack within a tent located on his Cobalt Drive property.
    • A “Mayday“ call was heard on a radio frequency monitored by law enforcement. Search and Rescue units were dispatched to check roads in the vicinity of Onion Mountain, but no one was located.
    • “Rapid fire“ gunshots were heard in the 5000 block of Rockydale Road at 3:43 p.m., a complainant said.
    • Theft of a set of dishes and a painting of an elk from Wild River Pizza & Brewing Co. on N. Redwood Hwy. was reported as having occurred sometime during the past month.
    • Some sort of commotion was reported in a Kerby neighborhood around 10:12 p.m. But lawmen found no problem upon response.
  • Friday, Feb. 12
    • Kerby resident Dennis Jay Bellikka, 52, was cited on a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault and lodged in Josephine County Jail in Grants Pass.
    • A continuing problem between neighbors on Borica Drive was determined to be a civil matter.
    • Jedediah Royal Arrington, 24, was cited on a charge of speeding (64 mph in a 45 mph zone) on S. Redwood Hwy. at 9:26 p.m.
    • A 4x4 ATV stolen during the past month was recovered by its owner off Burch Drive. The vehicle had been “thrashed“ — painted, a window smashed, tire missing and speakers stolen.
    • During a dispute, it was reported, a woman “accidentally“ drove her vehicle into the side of a Laurel Road residence. The male half of the altercation stated he believes that she was trying to kill him. No evidence of a crime was noted.
    • “Lots of cars“ traveling back and forth on “normally quiet“ Norman Road were noted by a caller at 9:37 p.m., who also heard some yelling.
  • Saturday, Feb. 13
    • Theft of jewelry from a Downtown Cave Junction business was reported.
    • At 5:17 p.m., Galen Eli Aller, 62, was cited on a violation of a city ordinance banning alcohol on public premises. He was contacted at Jubilee Park.
    • In the 17000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 5:44 p.m., Sunshine Rubins, 18, was cited on a charge of violation of the basic rule (VBR/driving too fast for conditions).
    • Samuel Christopher Kurz, 49, was cited on a charge of DWS on N. Redwood Hwy. at 8:08 p.m.
    • Danny Larry Lee Jones, 31, was cited on a charge of DWS and warned for failure to carry proof of insurance in the 2000 block of Caves Hwy. at 9:11 p.m.
    • Josephine County Public Works was advised of a “Stop“ sign which had been yanked from its hold on Lakeshore Drive at Reeves Creek Road.
  • Sunday, Feb. 14
    • Just after midnight a caller in O“Brien reported having been kicked in his stomach. Subsequently, Alan Dean Gooden II, 30, was cited on a charge of domestic harassment, and lodged in county jail.
    • A Selma resident reportedly saw someone running behind his vehicle on his driveway at 12:14 a.m.
    • On N. Redwood Hwy. at 9:29 p.m., Holly Lynn Zloczewski, 46, was cited on charges of DUII and failure to yield before entering a roadway. She also was warned for DWS and driving uninsured. Zloczewski“s blood-alcohol content was listed as .20.
    • An Airport Drive resident reported that someone in a small black car had been seen repeatedly in the area, maybe messing with homes.
    • On Ollis Road a caller stated that someone was cutting trees on adjacent property and stealing firewood.
  • Monday, Feb. 15
    • Several “Stop“ and other traffic signs had been wrestled to the ground on Dick George Road, according to a caller.
    • The owner of a house on Caves Hwy. said that someone struck the side of it with a vehicle.
    • Tyler Thomas Moss, 30, was cited on a charge of DWS and his vehicle impounded following a traffic stop on N. Redwood Hwy. at 12:20 p.m.
    • A vehicle impounded earlier was discovered to be reported as stolen from Washington state.
    • A black, compact car again was seen loitering near residences on Airport Drive.
    • On N. Redwood Hwy. at 10:53 p.m., Wallace Barry Wilson, 56, was lodged in county jail on warrants charging failure to appear on original charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), a stalking order violation, and two DUII charges. Wilson also was cited on charges of DWS, and driving uninsured.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 16
    • Someone used a pointy object to break a vehicle“s sunroof, said a caller on E. Watkins Street. The damage was estimated to be approximately $1,500.
    • A report of unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, criminal mischief and first-degree theft was taken after three cars were broken into on Draper Valley Road.
    • A prowler was heard at 11:26 p.m. in the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy.
  • Wednesday, Feb. 17
    • There“s a Cave Junction resident who believes that his neighbors were coming onto his property at night and turning on his vehicle lights so that the battery dies. He said it“s retaliation for his having phoned Animal Control about their dogs. The neighbor was warned regarding trespassing and the leash law.
    • Sandra Vondy O“Neal, 67, was cited on a charge of speeding (43 mph in a 25 mph zone) on E. River Street at 5:37 p.m.
    • Someone reported that after his vehicle was rear-ended on Caves Hwy., the other driver provided him false insurance information.
    • Joseph Melvin Winslow, 41, was cited on charges of failure to obey a traffic control device, careless driving and DWS on N. Redwood Hwy. at 9:25 p.m.
  • Thursday, Feb. 18
    • At 12:03 a.m. it was reported that four men were kicking another as he lied on the ground screaming in the 400 block of S. Redwood Hwy. All subjects were gone upon a deputy“s arrival about a half hour later.
    • At 5:17 a.m. the rear door of Midnight Oasis in Downtown Cave Junction was forced open, tripping an alarm. No entry was made, but damage to the door was estimated at $500.
    • Employee error caused an alarm to sound at My Brother“s Pub at 7:24 a.m.
    • Someone threw a rock through the window of a car parked on N. Junction Avenue, setting off an alarm and causing some $300 damage.
    • Black bags filled with garbage were left in a quarry off Reeves Creek Road, a caller stated.
    • On S. Redwood Hwy. at 7:16 p.m., Alex Edward Wallin, 35, was cited on a charge of DWS and his vehicle was impounded.
    • Also on S. Redwood Hwy. in Downtown CJ, Michele Joseph Anderson, 33, was cited on a charge of no operator“s permit.
    • Pamela White, 47, was cited on a charge of speeding (39 mph in a 25 mph zone) on E. River Street at 8:47 p.m.
    • At milemarker 26 on Redwood Hwy., Michele Marie Wright, 47, was cited on a charge of speeding (61 mph in a 45 mph zone).
