Four Way applications due April 1
From our weekly issue dated February 17, 2010
Grant applications for 2010 from nonprofit organizations serving Josephine and western Jackson counties are being accepted by the Four Way Community Foundation.
Applications must be completed and received by April 1.
Guidelines and forms can be requested via P.O. Box 652, Grants Pass OR 97528; or leave a voice message at 541-474-9774.
To qualify, organizations must have 501(c)3 status or be an organization for which individual donations are tax-exempt under IRS rules.
“This community has many organizations and projects which need and deserve support, especially in our current economic situation,“ said Steve Welch, foundation president. “We know we will not be able to fully fund all the requests we receive. Still, we want to invite any nonprofit group serving our area to consider participating in the application process.“
The Four Way Community Foundation provides funds to projects “that enhance educational, cultural, and social conditions“ in Josephine and western Jackson counties. Preference is given to capital projects; organizations that strive to become self-supporting; that make extensive use of volunteers; and that provide facilities not supported by public funds.
Established in 1975, the foundation accepts, manages and invests bequests, contributions and donations from community-minded individuals and families. Currently the foundation is managing approximately $3.8 million in assets. Earnings are used to provide grants and scholarships supporting the work of a wide variety of community organizations.
Since inception, the foundation has distributed more than $4 million to aid worthy projects.
