“Jo“ Sauer
Josephine (Jo) Sauer is Illinois Valley Fine Artists Inc. featured Artist for February and March.
Sauer was born in Brownsville, Ore. in Willamette Valley. She and her family moved to Illinois Valley after she graduated from high school.
She joined the arts group in 1970 and is one of the original members. She uses photographs for reference and paints mostly landscapes of the rivers and mountains in Illinois Valley. Recently, “Jo“ has added florals to her subject matter.
Sauer has won numerous red and blue ribbons for her work. Her paintings can be seen at Sterling Savings Bank in Cave Junction during business hours.
