- Wednesday, Jan. 20
- An ?abandoned? vehicle parked near Illinois Valley Fire District Station 1 in Cave Junction interfered with the movement of fire trucks, so it was impounded.
- Two backpacks were found near the entry to a bank in Downtown Cave Junction. They appeared to belong to a transient individual, the caller said. No identification was found, and the items, with an estimated valued of less than $100, were to be destroyed.
- Leo Francis Antognazzi, 43, was cited on Hogue Drive on charges of failure to register as a sex offender, and to advise of an address change.
- A transient man was said to be loitering near businesses in the Selma area.
- It was reported at 7:12 p.m. that a man attempted to enter an Airport Drive residence through a bedroom window.
- Phoning from a Draper Valley Road address, a man said that a woman was beating him. He left for the evening, declining a ride.
- Thursday, Jan. 21
- Anna C. Humprey, 28, was cited on a charge of driving with a suspended license (DWS), and driving uninsured on Redwood Hwy. in Kerby at 11:54 a.m.
- Cedar Yandell, was cited on a charge of DWS on W. River Street at 4:34 p.m.
- A rural Cave Junction woman complained that her ex-daughter-in-law had been phoning and harassing her.
- A man walking on Deer Creek Road complained that he was being followed by two people in a white car. Turns out that they were making certain that he left the area, as he?d just been kicked out of a residence.
- Friday, Jan. 22
- Someone removed a surveillance camera -- valued at $1,600 -- from the roof of a business in Western Plaza on N. Redwood Hwy.
- Two license plates were found on Eight Dollar Mountain Road. One belonged to a stolen vehicle, the other to a car which had been discovered partially dismantled.
- A caller at Lake Selmac complained that the driver of a pickup truck yelled at her and threatened to run over her dog.
- Located at Western Plaza on N. Redwood Hwy., Rodger Lee Pernicka, 25, was lodged in Josephine County Jail in Grants Pass on a charge of failure to appear (FTA) on original charges of second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree disorderly conduct.
- Someone stated that someone else hit her vehicle while it was parked in Downtown CJ. She had tracked down the person, and he?d promised to pay, she said, but hasn?t. The caller was advised of her civil options.
- On N. Old Stage Road a caller stated that she believed a prowler was attempting to enter her residence. No sign of a problem was found.
- His sister borrowed his car to go see some folks in Selma, a man reported. They apparently broke the vehicle windows, and told him that if he wants it, to come and get it, but that they would ?kick his ass? when he got there.
- Saturday, Jan. 23
- Loud music at a Honeybee Lane residence awoke neighbors, who asked that the music be turned down. In response, a caller said at 2:46 a.m., the offending party began firing a shotgun. Advised of the complaint, the ?highly intoxicated? music players (per a sheriff?s deputy) agreed to reduce the volume.
- Theft of a Ruger Bearcat revolver was reported from a Caves Hwy. residence.
- Someone drove off Lone Mountain Road, through a fence and into trees, causing some $1,000 damage, a caller said.
- A license plate went missing from a U.S. Forest Service vehicle parked at the Wild Rivers Ranger District office in Cave Junction.
- Contacted at Illinois River Forks State Park, Floyd Ryan Eldred, 23, and Jordan Duncan Pace, 22, each were cited on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
- What sounded like gunshots were reported by a Kerby resident at 7:58 p.m.
- At 11:05 p.m. it was reported that someone tried to set fire to a wagon wheel adorning Art?s Red Garter after being asked to leave. The man was detained by two customers. The suspect, who had an Oklahoma driver license, was said to have a large ?goose egg? over his left eye. Bystanders said he received it when he fell and hit his head. The man was ?trespassed.?
- Sunday, Jan. 24
- Todd Walter Peterson, 36, was cited on a charge of DUII following a single-vehicle accident in the 10000 block of Takilma Road reported at 12:45 a.m.
- A Lakeshore Drive resident was provided a ride after she reported that her boyfriend wouldn?t allow her to leave the property.
- An argument over fencing materials and the location of a fence among residents of a property in the 30000 block of Redwood Hwy. was the reason for a call at 2:01 p.m.
- Monday, Jan. 25
- Theft of a washer and dryer from a residence in the 1900 block of Rockydale Road was reported.
- Daniel Stephen Blase, 31, was cited on N. Redwood Hwy. on charges of DWS and driving uninsured. His vehicle was impounded.
- Tuesday, Jan. 26
- Located on S. Redwood Hwy., Galen Eli Aller, 62, was lodged in county jail on a charge of FTA on an original charge of carrying a concealed weapon.
- Theft of a gold-and-diamond ring from a residence in the 7000 block of Caves Hwy. was reported, and suspect data provided.
- A vehicle parked on N. Redwood Hwy. was entered and ransacked, its owner reported. Nothing appeared to have been taken.
- Following a traffic stop on N. Redwood Hwy. at River Street at 11:46 a.m., driver Chad William Myers, 39, was cited on charges of DWS and driving uninsured. The vehicle was impounded.
- In connection with the preceding traffic stop, Jaque Dean Baty, 39, was lodged in county jail on a warrant charging first-degree theft; and James Steven Towe, 33, was lodged in county jail on a warrant charging probation violation/PCS marijuana.
- Seven hang-up calls to 911 came in around 2:37 p.m. Children could be heard in the background, but because the call was made from a cell phone, no exact location could be determined.
- Extrication was required following a single-vehicle accident on Holland Loop. Afterward, driver Michael John Bremer, 61, was cited on charges of DUII and open container of alcoholic beverage; and Stephen Lance Coley, 52, was lodged in county jail on a charge of probation violation.
- Wednesday, Jan. 27
- ?Kids? playing with a telephone on S. Old Stage Road were thought responsible for a 911 hang-up call at 9:32 a.m.
- Theft of a maroon Ford Ranger pickup truck with a camper shell was reported from Gold Canyon Drive.
- A computer was discovered missing from a home in the 28000 block of Redwood Hwy. a caller said.
- There was a call from a Garner Road woman that a neighbor?s large dog had gotten loose and injured her cat. Furthermore, she insisted that something weird was going on next door because a bright light had descended upon the house and stayed for about an hour, giving her a headache.
- A reported stolen vehicle was recovered off Waldo Road at 2:04 p.m.
- On Dogwood Lane, a caller reported that seven young people pushed their way into a residence, where they spat at, kicked and punched the complainant and her friend. Several juvenile people were contacted, and a 13-year-old girl was cited to appear in court on charges of harassment and criminal trespassing. An additional charge of coercion was referred to the juvenile court.
- The driver of a vehicle involved in a pursuit fled from his vehicle on Pinewood Way around 10:30 p.m.
- Subsequent to a pursuit, Michael Bruce Wilkinson, 53, was lodged in county jail on a charge of first-degree theft by receiving. Additionally, he was cited on a charge of PCS/methamphetamine, which was discovered in his wallet during an intake search at the jail.
