Detectives seeking two suspects following N. Kerby Street assault

UPDATE 01/29/2010: A named suspect in the home invasion robbery of Norbert Croft at 126 N. Kerby Ave. was apprehended without incident on Thursday, Jan. 28, said Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Detective Ken Selig.
In a press release, Selig stated that Billy Jack Biggs, 33, was located and taken into custody along Redwood Hwy.in Kerby. Biggs was lodged in Josephine County Jail on charges of first-degree burglary, first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, first-degree theft and unlawful use of a weapon.
JCSO detectives have tentatively identified the second suspect in the case as Rogue River resident Nick Trautman, 30. Trautman, a white male, is described as 6’1” tall, with short brown hair, red goatee, brown eyes, with tattoos on both arms, chest and stomach. Investigators are seeking Trautman’s whereabouts, and anyone with information is asked to phone JCSO’s Major Crimes Unit at 541-474-5153 or the confidential tip line at 541-474-5160.

Two armed men who assaulted a Cave Junction resident in his home on Friday night, Jan. 22, are sought by Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).
Shortly before 8 p.m. a N. Kerby Street resident phoned 911 to report that a neighbor, Norbert Croft, had been attacked in his home by two men and required medical attention.
Croft, who was transported by American Medical Response to Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass, suffered two broken fingers, a fractured skull and lacerations to his scalp, said JCSO.
During investigation, deputies developed information indicating that 33-year-old Billy Jack Biggs and another man forcibly entered the Croft residence at 126 N. Kerby St. Both were said to be armed with handguns.
The pair then beat Croft when he resisted, JCSO said. The agency related that Biggs and his associate then robbed Croft of personal property, including a shotgun and medical marijuana, and fled on foot.
