Conductor contender to lead RVSO concerts

Darko Butorac, among five talented conductors competing this season to become Rogue Valley Symphony music director, will conduct the third concert series.

Featured will be Bach“s Symphony No. 3 in F Major, Brahms“ Concerto for Violin with guest violinist Catherine Manoukian, and Tchaikovsky“s Symphony No. 4.

Concerts are set for 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, in Ashland at the Music Recital Hall of Southern Oregon University, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd.; at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, in Medford at the Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater, 23 S. Central Avenue; and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24, at the Grants Pass High School Performing Arts Center, 830 N.E. Ninth St.
