Friday, Nov. 27
- A caller was concerned about a friend with a shotgun who might harm himself. The friend was taken to Three Rivers Community Hospital (TRCH) in Grants Pass on a peace officer’s mental hold. Subsequently, Duane William Summers, 58, was lodged in Josephine County Jail on a charge of felon in possession of a firearm.
- From the vicinity of W. Stevenson Street and Hussey Avenue a man complained about loud, disorderly behavior at a nearby transient camp. It was found that the property owner had given permission to some people to camp there.
- Gerald A. Moody, 67, was cited on a charge of driving with a suspended license (DWS) on Redwood Hwy. at Hamilton Avenue at 7:55 p.m.
- Two women on N. Junction Avenue were advised to avoid one another following an argument about where a car had been parked on a shared driveway.

Saturday, Nov. 28
- At TRCH an emergency room worker made an observation concerning the welfare of a 90-year-old woman from rural Cave Junction. His concern was echoed by American Medical Response medics, who advised that she’d been left with an untreated leg wound, and that she was “living in squalor.” The information was forwarded to Senior Services.
- Residents on Addison Lane reported what could have been gunshots or fireworks around 7:35 p.m. One caller said that she saw “something burning” soar over her house.
- A “Stop” sign was propped on its side on Caves Hwy. at Holland Loop. It was determined to be a job for ODOT.

Sunday, Nov. 29
- David Sean Ginetty, 56, was cited on a charge of illegal occupancy of U.S. Forest Service land off Eight Dollar Mountain Road.
- Following a complaint of a disturbance on Hanby Lane, two uncooperative people were advised of domestic violence laws.
- Inadequate fencing and wandering cows were complained about on Reeves Creek Road. A deputy contacted the livestock owner.
- At 7:30 p.m. the overwhelming smell of electrical smoke was noted at the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office Substation in Cave Junction City Hall basement. Illinois Valley Fire District responders, who were not overwhelmed, found a faulty switch in a soft drink vending machine.

Monday, Nov. 30
- Some $150 damage to a window pane in a store on N. Redwood Hwy. was caused by a small rock, a caller said.
- On Rockydale Road, Jeremy James Sorensen, 26, was cited on a charge of DWS, and warned for failure to provide proof of insurance.
- Tuesday, Dec. 1
- A new cook was found to be responsible for an alarm at a restaurant on N. Redwood Hwy. at 6:30 a.m. It apparently was a burglar alarm; not a smoke alarm.
- His girlfriend was throwing his stuff out of the house, a man reported at 12:16 p.m. And she was chasing him around the housing complex in the 500 block of S. Redwood Hwy.
- A 6-year-old girl on Patton Bar Road admitted to dialing 911, and said that she wouldn’t do it again unless she had a real emergency.
- Two people were heard shouting profanities at one another in the 1700 block of Rockydale Road at 7:07 p.m. The words were not listed.
- A deputy noted that after a man saw his patrol car, the man left his parked vehicle in the 300 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 10:33 p.m. and tried to walk away. The driver admitted, when asked, that this was because he had no license and no insurance. The vehicle was unregistered.
- Kory Michael Allen, 20, was cited on charges of DWS and driving uninsured on S. Kerby Avenue at 9:39 p.m. His vehicle was impounded.
- Two flashlight beams were seen within the former Family Tree Nursery building on Junction Avenue that was recently damaged by fire. The building was found to be unsecured, but it was unknown if anything had been taken.
