- Wednesday, Nov. 18
- A recently erected gate leading to property off Takilma Road was cut down with a chainsaw, said the property owner. She stated that according to the man responsible, he had paperwork showing his right to reach nearby mining claims.
- A man stated that someone erected a barricade on a public road leading to mines in Takilma, but that he’d dismantled it. He added that he and the gate-builder were trying to reach an agreement.
- On Deer Creek Road a resident said that he just noticed 10 bullet holes around his front door.
- Illinois Valley High School administrators, who found a student in possession of a small jar full of marijuana, turned the weed over to deputies, who destroyed it.
- Thursday, Nov. 19
- Alarms sounded at CJ Video Mart/Radio Shack due to a burglary at 3:33 a.m. Entry was made through a broken window, apparently caused by the burglar.
- In Selma a woman reported that her ex-husband visited the neighbor’s house today, possibly in violation of a restraining order.
- Friday, Nov. 20
- His car was stolen while he was in a Downtown Cave Junction business, stated a man. He later found it parked about a block away, and declined to press charges.
- A rural Cave Junction caller stated that he believes that a man staying on his property is in possession of stolen items.
- American Medical Response personnel asked for law enforcement to respond when they were confronted by an irate man who screamed at them when they arrived after being called to Rockydale Road.
- Saturday, Nov. 21
- “Employee error” was the stated reason for an open-door alarm at Junction Inn at 1:21 a.m.
- Two drivers were warned about their behavior after a caller reported that they seemed to be chasing each other on Gamay Court and Merlot Drive.
- Sunday, Nov. 22
- A complainant on Aries Lane stated that two pit bull dogs were running loose in the neighborhood. The report was forwarded to Josephine County Animal Control.
- Skamania County Sheriff’s Office (in Washington State) advised that a complainant reported threatening messages from two people in Selma.
- A woman in California wanted deputies to check on the welfare of her daughter, who’d threatened to run away from a Selma location and hitch-hike home.
- Monday, Nov. 23
- Mark Todd Tomlinson, 48, was cited on Lakeshore Drive at 12:33 p.m. on charges of driving with a suspended license (DWS), driving without a seatbelt and driving uninsured.
- Robert James Myers, 39, was cited on a charge of harassment following a reported disturbance behind St. Mathias Episcopal Church at 3:51 p.m.
- A Holland Loop resident reported finding two bullet holes in his house and garage.
- Thomas Wayne Snider, 40, was lodged in Josephine County Jail in Grants Pass on a Nevada warrant charging probation violation on an original charge of carrying a concealed weapon.
- Tuesday, Nov. 24
- Loud music and gunshots, possibly in connection with a vehicle that was seen being raced around, were reported by residents on Briar Lane, Borica Drive, Forest Creek Road and Thompson Creek Road at 8:09 a.m.
- Several drivers in Downtown Cave Junction were warned about failure to wear their seatbelts this a.m.
- An impounded dog vomited in the county sheriff’s SUV in the 300 block of S. Redwood Hwy. A citizen offered paper towels, but declined a free puppy.
- Wednesday, Nov. 25
- Jeremy L. Whyte, 25, was cited during a traffic stop on Holland Loop near Dick George Road on charges of DWS, driving uninsured, and possession of a controlled substance/less than an ounce of marijuana. His vehicle was impounded.
- Todd H. Heiller, 18, was cited on a charge of speeding (65 mph in a 45 mph zone) on Holland Loop at 9:21 p.m.
- A Cave Junction woman complained of continuing telephonic harassment, allegedly by her ex-boyfriend.
- Several people were contacted after a fight near mushroom-buying stalls on a Cave Junction parking lot, reported at 10:30 p.m. One man, described as intoxicated and indicated by witnesses to be the aggressor, sustained a nose injury, but did not wish to pursue charges. All involved agreed to separate for the evening.
- On Rockydale Road, David R. Graves, 53, was cited on a charge of failure to appear (FTA) on an original charge of contempt of court. He was lodged in Josephine county jail.
- While conducting an investigation in Kerby, a deputy noted an untagged, gut-shot buck in the backyard of a residence.
- Thursday, Nov. 26
- Lynda Lee Harvey, 68, was cited on a charge of DUII at 2:22 a.m. on W. Lister Street. Harvey also was warned for failure to maintain a lane of travel, failure to use appropriate signal, failure to obey (two) traffic control devices, and failure to yield before entering a roadway.
- A Caves Hwy. resident heard what sounded like explosions at 5:55 p.m.
