One dead after Kerby shooting

A Kerby resident died due to a gunshot wound after an apparent fight with a neighbor on Friday afternoon, Nov. 13, said Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).
Deputies arriving shortly after 4 p.m. pronounced Kenneth Ray Vaughn, 60, dead prior to the arrival of emergency medical personnel.
Witnesses told JCSO investigators that Vaughn had gone to the home of Donald Easley, 60, at 23833 Redwood Hwy., where the two men began arguing. According to witnesses, both men were armed with handguns, said JCSO. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
No arrest was made.
Deputies are continuing their investigation and ask anyone with information to phone JCSO’s Major Crimes Unit at 474-5160.
