Patsy Rose Whitman
Patsy Rose Whitman, 70, of Cave Junction died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009 at her home.
A graveside service will be held at Laurel Cemetery in Cave Junction on Saturday, Oct. 17 at noon.
Ms. Whitman was born on Feb. 2, 1939 in Atascadero, Calif. She grew up in San Francisco. In 1975 she moved to Cave Junction and worked as a waitress and care-giver.
She enjoyed arts and crafts, spending time with her grandchildren and recording and watching old movies. She will be remembered for her many ideas of interest and colorful adventures. She attended Come Aside Ministries and completed the Christian Workers Bible Study Series.
Surviving are her three children, Nicki Parker and Mark Forsey, of Cave Junction; and Cindy Reid, of San Francisco; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents Marian and Wilbert Herther of O’Brien; her son David Forsey, of Cave Junction; and her companion of many years, Walter Miller of Cave Junction.
Leo Trahan
Leo Trahan, 75, of Cave Junction, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009 at his home.
No service is planned. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Trahan was born on May 14, 1934 in New Orleans, La. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a tugboat captain, long haul truck driver and a bus driver for a public transportation company. In 2006 he moved from California to Cave Junction.
He was a member of Temecula Gun Club in California, and the North American Hunter Association. His hobbies included deer and duck hunting.
Survivors include three sons, Paul, of Texas; Gerard, of Oregon; and Leo, of Oregon; five daughters: Paula, Suzette, Hope, and Trudy, of Louisiana, and Jessica, of California; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
