Best of Show winner in the 2009 I.V. Lions Labor Day Parade was the Illinois Valley Senior Center/Jefferson State Financial entry featuring an Oregon Trail theme. The entry was led by Native American dancer Justin Leavitt. Harold Teague was honored as Grand Marshal. The 37th annual Illinois Valley Lions Labor Day Festival concluded on Monday, Sept. 7 with a parade along Redwood Hwy. in Downtown Cave Junction. The weekend’s events included the Tuff Trucks competition (Photos below) and the festival in Jubilee Park. Featured were the ever-popular greased-pole climb, food vendors, bingo, live music and other activities. More photos, along with parade and contest results on page 12.
