Roger Brandt worked so hard and spent many hours and months putting together an amazing tour of the old Redwood Stage Road. His check station volunteers all along the way handed out information and the tour route.

The entire tour was informational and extremely scenic. A wonderful trip through time. Many kudos to all involved. We appreciate them.

The geyser of lies
From Gregory Anderson

Most clear thinkers believe we can learn and grow our knowledge from history. For instance, we know that there has never been a healthcare program run by any government anywhere in the world that didn’t (and doesn’t) ration services.

They don’t “pull the plug on grandma;” they never plugged grandma in to begin with. When these limousine liberals tell us how they are giving us a good health plan, but they don’t think it is good enough for themselves or their staffs, it should give us pause.

Why are they unwilling to be a part of the public option aka government healthcare aka universal nightmare aka single-payer hell?

You may have heard the uprising of the far left when a couple of Obama’s key people mentioned there didn’t have to be a “public option...” The lefty loons know the real reason for government control of health care They could not care less about the level of care for the peasants.

They are only concerned with the level of power and control over them. One might say the ruling class will receive the Cadillac care paid by the taxpayers while we get trickle-down clunker care with the leftover dollars.

Sadly, either our president has no knowledge of history, which proves what he is promising is not true, or he has the economic knowledge of a gnat. Evidence of the latter is when he said spending is the same thing as stimulus.

If our wise guys in Washington really wanted our economy to grow, all they would have to do is declare a tax holiday. Then we the people, especially small business, could really help us climb out of this hole government (e.g. Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, who prevented regulation of Fanny & Freddie) has put us in.

The misinformation is not coming from the taxpayers, it is coming from the “Old Faithful” geyser of lies: Washington, D.C.

Make a difference: be nice
From Mrs. Tom Peno

Here’s what happened to a friend of mine. This person is 90 years old, and not feeling well, went to the clinic.

Waiting in the car at the pharmacy while medicine was being prepared, there was a truck parked in the next space. It was one of those really hot days and this pickup truck’s occupants kept the motor running to enjoy the air conditioning.

Well, my friend had to sit there for 15 minutes breathing toxic emissions and feeling very sick from it.

This is really not healthy for a frail old person or anyone, for that matter. I think it borders on depraved indifference to human life.

I’ve seen this before; some people think their own comfort far outweighs the rest of us, who can just fall over for all they care.

If it’s so hot, go into a building. Please don’t run your car so you can be cool because it makes it worse for others.
