  An overflow crowd turned out at the Josephine County Bldg. in Downtown Cave Junction on Wednesday evening, Aug. 12, for a town hall meeting conducted by U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Springfield).

    An ordinance that would provide firefighters better emergency access to endangered structures is being considered by the Illinois Valley Fire District (IVFD) Board of Directors.

  • Chief Rich defiant on state billing

    

    A bill for $425 was sent by the state of Oregon to Illinois Valley Fire District (IVFD), but Chief Harry Rich has expressed apprehension about paying it.

• Interstate-5 fatal MVA

  

  A Lakewood, Wash. man died Thursday morning, Aug. 13, after colliding with the rear of another vehicle and rolling over onto the shoulder of the lanes for northbound traffic on Interstate 5 approximately a mile from Gold Hill.
