U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio town hall set Aug. 12

The U.S. Congress typically takes a recess every August, and this year is no exception. House members typically use the break to return to their districts to meet with constituents, and that’s exactly what Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Springfield) plans to do.
DeFazio will be in Cave Junction from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12 to hold a town hall meeting. That will be held in Cave Junction City Hall, located at 222 Lister St.
Possible topics of discussion could include health care, the federal stimulus, a proposed expansion of the Oregon Caves National Monument and transportation issues.
DeFazio represents all of Douglas, Coos, Curry, Lane and Linn counties, and parts of Josephine and Benton counties.
