SEASON FINALE - The Illinois Valley Chamber of Commerce’s annual Concerts in the Park series will conclude on Thursday, Aug. 6 with area Bluegrass favorites, Jefferson. The performance will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in Cave Junction’s Jubilee Park. The free event also features a 50/50 raffle. Hamburgers, hot dogs, soft drinks and other items are available from the snack bar operated by I.V. Little League.
BINGO BENEFIT - Boys & Girls Club of the Rogue Valley, which operates a program for Illinois Valley youth, will be the beneficiary of a Bingo At Bridgeview event on Saturday, Aug. 15. The annual winemakers’ dinner at Bridgeview Vineyards Winery will include many attractions. Watch I.V. News for more detailed information.
LIBRARY LINK - After 27 months of being closed, the Illinois Valley branch of Josephine County Libraries Inc. will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, Sept. 5. Festivities will begin at 11 a.m., including introduction of the Illinois Valley branch manager, remarks by library and community leaders, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. A reception hosted by the Illinois Valley Friends of the Library will continue the festivities as the library opens for its first day of library service. Hours for Illinois Valley will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays and noon to 4 pm on Saturdays, for a total of 12 hours weekly. The library is located at 209 W. Palmer St. in Cave Junction.
