Rogue Valley Flyers ‘Float Fly’ at Selmac July 11
From our weekly issue dated July 08, 2009
Rogue Valley Flyers (RVF), the radio-control (R-C) model flying club of Josephine County, has scheduled its popular Float Fly for Saturday, July 11 at Lake Selmac in Selma from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (wind permitting).
RVF members will fly a wide variety of aircraft throughout the morning. Additionally, the club will provide opportunities to fly an R-C aircraft for all interested. A flight instructor will connect with the student by a “buddy box” to ensure a safe and enjoyable flight.
The RVF Float Fly has been a popular event at Lake Selmac for more than 20 years. The public can bring lawn chairs, sit in the shade of the surrounding trees and tilt heads toward the clouds.
Additional information about the Float Fly and other coming events is available on the RVF Website at home.earthlink.net/~roguevalleyflyers.
RVF has been serving the radio-control community of Josephine County since 1972. Through a lease agreement with the county the club has a flight facility at the Josephine Skypark in Kerby. And the club has an active youth program through which young people can learn the principles of flight leading to an eventual solo of an aircraft.
