  • Friday, May 22
    • Marlin G. Deaton, 68, was cited on a charge of VBR(violation of the basic rule/driving too fast for conditions) due to a listed speed of 40 mph in a 25 mph zone on N. Junction Avenue at 4:22 p.m.
    • On Old Stage Road near Hanby Lane, Kayla Young, 17, was cited on a charge of VBR (speed 40 in a 25 mph zone).
    • A Rockydale Road resident thought it suspicious that two men in a pickup truck with a freezer in its bed would be selling steaks door-to-door.
    • At 12:45 p.m. another caller reported the steak-selling duo, and was concerned that they might be casing the neighborhood.
    • Jeremy Nicolas Hurst, 26, was cited on charges of driving while suspended (DWS) and driving uninsured in the 400 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 5:55 p.m.
    • Several people were contacted at Rough & Ready Creek Park, and a .40-caliber handgun reported stolen was recovered. Justin Thomas Horn, 19, was cited on a charge of possession of a controlled substance (PCS); and Michelle Marie Blankenship, 42, was cited on a charge of first-degree theft.
    • In the 2000 block of Caves Hwy. a woman said that she’d talked to a man about her rental property, but he indicated that he had no money. Despite this, she discovered that he’d moved in, and she wanted him out. When contacted, Donald D. Bernald, 48, was cited on warrants charging failure to appear (FTA) on charges of DWS and driving while revoked.
    • At Store Gulch out Illinois River Road two people were warned regarding fishing out of season.
    • At milepost 26 on Redwood Hwy., Raul Villegas Cuevas, 29, was cited on a charge of VBR (speed 71 in a 55 mph zone) at 11:27 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 23
    • What sounded like men and women yelling and fighting on Madrona Drive was reported at 3:31 a.m.
    • Dessi Dulaney Perez, 38, was cited on a charge of VBR on Redwood Hwy. at Pinewood Way at 2:12 p.m.
    • Dorman Zachary Hanna, 26, was cited near Rough & Ready Creek on a charge of no off-highway vehicle permit.
    • At a campsite about 1 mile east of Rough & Ready Creek Bridge, a handgun and rifle were seized. And an individual contacted at the site was cited federally on a charge of possession of more than an ounce of marijuana.
    • Erina Anise Llitz, 29, was cited on charges of DWS and no proof of insurance at Illinois River Forks State Park.
    • Brewster Dan Tablin, 32, was cited on a charge of careless driving on Briggs Valley Road at 5:07 p.m.
    • On Eight Dollar Mountain Road at 7:52 p.m., Kendra Rae Goltz, 18, was cited on a charge of minor in possession of alcoholic beverage; and Kristopher Allen Pritchett, 26, on a charge of supplying alcohol to a minor.
    • At Seats Dam out Airport Road Kenneth James Brian Cook, 25, and Sara Ann Butler, 28, were cited federally on charges of PCS (less than an ounce of marijuana).
    • Brad Bell Blachly, 28, was cited on charges of DWS and driving uninsured in the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 9:17 p.m.
    • At Store Gulch, Tyler Christopher Bacon, 17, and Benjamin Wesley Weeks, 18, were cited on charges of occupying a day-use area after legal hours. Bacon also was cited on a charge of PCS.
  • Sunday, May 24
    • Theft of a .20-gauge shotgun from a Norman Road residence was reported.
    • Just south of Cave Junction on Redwood Hwy., Jeremy Dillon Dutton, was cited on a charge of DWS, and his vehicle was impounded.
  • Monday, May 25
    • An Ollis Road resident reported an attempted break-in at 1:25 a.m.
    • Eight loud gunshots or possibly explosions were reported at 7:26 p.m. by a caller on Rockydale Road near Sherier Lane. Laughter also was heard.
    • A deputy recovered a decorative flag which had fallen from a pole in Downtown Cave Junction, and left it at city hall.
  • Tuesday, May 26
    • Theft of a gasoline-powered water pump from a pond on Reeves Creek Road was reported.
    • Cash and a camera were reported stolen from a bag left on shore at Lake Selmac around 10:42 a.m.
    • A Kerby resident said that when she returned home she saw her former boyfriend running from the back door. She wanted him warned regarding criminal trespassing, telephonic harassment and stalking.
    • On Hays Cut Off, a caller complained that someone nearby was running a gasoline-powered water pump 24 hours a day.
    • A Cave Junction resident complained that someone had stolen his vehicle. He was advised that because the driver had the title and bill of sale, ownership of the car, if disputed, was a civil issue.
    • On N. Caves Avenue a woman was advised of her options after her son was deemed “beyond parental control.”
    • On Gamay Court a man said he was told that his rented residence had been foreclosed and that he would have to vacate. He told a woman, who refused to leave, that she should take it up with his landlord.
    • Five gunshots were heard by a caller on Caves Hwy. at 11:30 p.m. He said that two rounds struck the building he was in.
    • Another Caves Hwy. caller reported hearing three gunshots at 11:30 p.m.
