Pow-Wow set May 9-10 in GP

People of the Earth Foundation will present its 15th annual free Native American Arts Festival & Mothers Day Pow-Wow on Saturday and Sunday, May 9 and 10 in Riverside Park in Grants Pass.

The event, part of the Amazing May celebration, will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.

Along with drumming performances by Elk Thunder Drum and others, there will be singing and traditional men’s and women’s dance exhibitions. Fiesta America’s 4-H dance group and Lowicha also will perform.



Food, arts and crafts booths will be open to the public, and there will be workshops on regionally available healing herbs and medicinal mushrooms. There also will be giant puppets, face-painting, 50/50 drawings and raffles.

Grand entry will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday; noon on Sunday.
