Items still needed for Grad Night auction

From our weekly issue dated May 06, 2009

Donations to be auctioned at the TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) Grad Night annual silent auction on Thursday, May 14, still are needed.

This fund-raiser accounts for a major portion of the monies needed to finance the 2009 IVHS Safe and Sober Grad Night Party. The more items, (new, used, vintage, services, gift certificates, etc.) available, the more money the auction will provide for the venture, said the sponsor.

Besides the silent auction, there will be “a nice formal sit-down dinner served by none other than your IVHS seniors.

“A sumptuous meal prepared by Mayor Don Moore will include Caesar salad, baron of beef, sour-cream-and-chives mashed potatoes, peas, and a sinfully delicious surprise dessert. This is a meal we are told, that the good ol’ boys at the I.V. Lions Club can’t pass up when it is the mayor’s turn to do dinner for the club.”

As another part of the TEAM event, I.V. Booster Club members will be at the dinner and auction in support of the theme, “Show your Spirit, Let’s Paint the Night Red and White!” They will have informational brochures available, and club members will be able to answer questions.

“This year we will also have a 20-minute live auction at the end of the evening for several larger items,” said Bobbie Loyd, Grad Night chairman. “This will be a memorable event, regardless of the economy.

“The community banding together for one another will make it a wonderful night,” she said.

The 2009 TEAM Grad Night silent auction and dinner will be held in the IVHS multipurpose room beginning at 5:30 pm. (See the ad elsewhere in this issue).

Some donations can be dropped at the school office, “Just tell them it is for the silent auction,” or phone Loyd at (541) 659-2028 to arrange for your item to be picked up.

“Also,” said Loyd, “if you would like to just donate cash, that is fine too. For dinner tickets phone 659-2028 to reserve your spot.”
