James Alloway
James Wilburn Alloway, 49, of Kerby, died Saturday, April 25, 2009 at his home. A family service will be held.
Mr. Alloway was born Feb. 27, 1960 in Los Angeles. He moved from San Bernardino, Calif. to Kerby three years ago.
His favorite band was KISS. He enjoyed watching movies, and especially spending time with his nieces and nephews at the Illinois River.
Surviving are two sisters, Tammy Hoyle, of Kerby, and Judy Eaton, of Las Vegas, Nev.; and 20 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Alloway, in 2007.
Illinois Valley Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
‘Fred’ Krauss
Frederick Robert “Fred” Krauss, 76, of Selma, Ore., passed away on April 30, 2009 at home surrounded by family and friends.
Services were held Tuesday, May 5, at Selma Baptist Church with interment at Deer Creek Cemetery in Selma. A reception followed at the church.
Fred was born on May 1, 1932 in Grants Pass, Ore. to Lew & Helen Krauss. In 1959, Fred married Patricia Kendall, who preceded his death in 2001. Fred served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. He was a co-owner of Rough & Ready Lumber Co. and a partner of Indian Hill LLC.
Fred was a life-long resident of Selma, but also loved to spend time at his home in Gold Beach. He enjoyed trap shooting, yard sales, collecting memorabilia and exploring the surrounding countryside. Fred was a history buff and a great story teller, and always had a joke or a “Fred Side” cartoon to share each day.
Fred is survived by his daughter and two sons, Sandra Krauss-King, Kurt Krauss and Cory Krauss; and a brother, John Krauss. Fred has four grandchildren; Erin Perkins, John Perkins, Savannah Krauss and Kori Krauss; and one great-grandson, Brennon Jaso.
The family would like to extend thanks to all of the medical staff and care-givers involved. Care-givers: Donna May and Stephanie Parsons; and the medical staffs of Dr. Cory Fawcett, Dr. Latin, Dr. Robert Hoellrich, Dr. Mark Deatherage and Dr. Kathy Mechling, as well as Three Rivers Community Hospital.
