  • Thursday, April 16
    • A Selma resident complained about receiving harassing phone calls from a Cave Junction resident.
    • A civil disagreement regarding removal of vehicles from a yard in the 30000 block of Redwood Hwy. was reported at 1:43 p.m.
    • Following a traffic stop in the 200 block of S. Redwood Hwy., Jerry Lee Clark, 56, was cited to appear in Cave Junction Municipal Court on a charge of failure to properly use a seatbelt.
    • A disturbance was reported on Forest Creek Road. Subsequently, Jennifer Jo Brown, 44, was cited on warrants charging failure to appear (FTA) and failure to comply on two separate DUII charges.
    • Mason Gene Maddon, 21, was cited on charges of driving without insurance on Thompson Creek Road at 6:23 p.m. The vehicle was impounded.
    • A caller on Hummingbird Road complained of repeated instances of motorcycles being raced down the road each afternoon.
    • Fraudulent charges by someone using a Cave Junction woman’s debit card number for Internet purchases were reported.
    • Stephanie Renee McLaughlin, 33, was cited on a charge of speeding (61 mph in a 45 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. in Kerby.
  • Friday, April 17
    • On a parking lot on S. Redwood Hwy. a man said that someone attempted to take his car with children inside, but that he fought off the guy.
    • At Illinois River Forks State Park, Charles Scott Bessner, 39, was issued a federal violation notice for no valid operator’s permit. He was warned for failure to maintain a lane and failure to drive right.
    • David Lyle Eddie Paulsen, 19, was cited to appear in CJ Muni Court on a charge of speeding (37 in a 25 mph zone) on E. River Street at 5:49 p.m.
    • Desiree Michelle Johnson, 29, was cited on a charge of speeding (45 in a 30 mph zone) on Old Stage Road at 6:22 p.m.
    • Four people were contacted on S. Redwood Hwy. at Watkins Street and warned regarding blocking a public right-of-way.
    • A woman was said to be creating a disturbance on Krauss Lane at 3:40 p.m. The resident wanted her warned against trespassing.
    • On S. Junction Avenue a boy, 12, was said to have assailed a parent with a toy. The boy was counseled regarding his behavior.
    • Robert Scott Smilo, 52, was issued a federal citation to appear on a charge of DUII on Reeves Creek Road at 8:09 p.m.
    • Tyler Neal Wylie, 22, was cited on charges of failure to obey a traffic control device (FTOTCD) and driving-while-suspended violation on Redwood Hwy. at Hamilton Road at 8:05 p.m.
    • Shannon Marie Horton, 30, was cited on charges of no operator’s permit and open container of alcoholic beverage on Redwood Hwy. at Lakeshore Drive at 10:16 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 18
    • A loud discussion between intoxicated persons in Downtown Cave Junction at 12:42 p.m. was thought to be an altercation, but there was “no problem.”
    • Jon Praise Williams, 30, was cited on a charge of DUII, DWS and driving uninsured on E. River Street at 2:02 a.m.
  • Sunday, April 19
    • A complainant stated that someone in a gray pickup truck with California license plates was taking firewood off county-owned property near Lone Mountain in the 35000 block of Redwood Hwy.
    • Theft of items from an E. River Street residence by a family member was reported.
    • An officer reported seeing a black vehicle which sped over Hay’s Hill at more than 100 mph. Persons interviewed in the vicinity stated that it’s a continuing problem.
    • Stopped on Deer Creek Road at 6:47 p.m., Brandon Shane Croft, 23, was cited on a charge of speeding (101 mph in a 55 mph zone).
    • A 17-year-old was said to be “flipping out” and tearing up a residence on Caves Avenue at 8:17 p.m.
    • A man found passed out at the wheel of a vehicle on Holton Creek Road at 8:27 p.m. was advised not to operate his vehicle while he was in that condition.
    • “Unlawful home-made headlights” drew law enforcement attention to driver Steven Richard McMichael’s vehicle on Redwood Hwy. at 10:44 p.m. He was cited on charges of DWS, driving uninsured and failure to provide registration.
    • An E. River Street resident reported another in a continuing series of harassing visits by a former spouse.
  • Monday, April 20
    • Theft of a wallet from a vehicle parked off S. Hussey Avenue was reported.
    • On Waldo Road a caller stated that several people were removing items of value from the residence of a man currently in county jail. The caller also reported being menaced during the incident.
    • Pauline Annette Long, 50, was cited on a warrant charging FTA on an original DUII charge.
    • In the 5000 block of Westside Road a caller said that her neighbor was bull-dozing a fence. He stated that he was upset because his four dogs had been euthanized “because of her.”
    • On Althouse Road a woman who routinely feeds some 11 stray cats noticed that none of them came to be fed this afternoon. She wanted the information logged in case more pets were reported stolen.
    • Entry to a vacant residence on N. Junction Avenue was reported.
    • Terri Allison Thomas, 46, was cited on a charge of fourth-degree assault following an altercation reported to have occurred on N. Hussey Avenue.
    • A driver, who stopped on Redwood Hwy. near Arrowhead Drive to change a CD in his truck, was injured when the vehicle, still in gear, ran over his foot. He refused medical attention and thought he could make it home to Klamath Falls.
  • Tuesday, April 21
    • Apprehended by Oregon State Police, William Jackson Kehoe, 41, was lodged in Josephine County Jail on warrants charging FTA on charges including manufacture, distribution and possession of controlled substances and precursors with intent to manufacture; and unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine.
    • A former Thompson Creek Road resident complained of a fraudulent charge to her debit card.
    • A Cave Junction restaurateur reported that a diner left to get some money to pay a bill and never returned.
    • It was reported that a possibly intoxicated woman was behaving in a disorderly manner, yelling and throwing items outside a Cave Junction restaurant. Also, the woman was said to have disrobed and changed clothes in full view of the business.
    • Shannon Marie Hewitt, 18, was cited on a charge of no operator’s permit on Shadowbrook Drive at 7:30 p.m.
    • A suspicious vehicle was reported parked near a vacant house on Rockydale Road.
    • Parties involved in a family/neighbor dispute/“screaming match” on E. O’Brien Street fled prior to a deputy’s arrival.
    • During an argument with her boyfriend, a woman said that she exited her vehicle and he drove away, leaving her stranded in Downtown CJ for several hours, unable to contact him.
  • Wednesday, April 22
    • A man on Fernwood Drive reported that a woman identifying herself as a census worker came to his house. It was noted that census workers had begun canvassing Josephine County on Monday, April 20 to verify addresses in advance of the 2010 census.
    • Theft of a black scooter valued at $300 from a storage shed on Caves Avenue was reported.
    • A disturbance was reported on Norman Road, but neither party wished to pursue charges.
    • Jeremy L. Whyte, 25, was lodged in Josephine County Jail on charges of fourth-degree domestic assault and a warrant charging probation violation.
    • Walter Britt Phillips, 43, was lodged in county jail pending extradition on a Ventura County, Calif. warrant charging dangerous drugs. He also was cited on Grants Pass warrants charging DWS.
    • Assistance was requested for a Caves Hwy. home owner having a hard time with over-bearing window salespeople.
    • On O’Brien Street, William Clyde Bradford, 42, was cited on a charge of felon in possession of a firearm.
    • The driver of a white Chevy van drove through a fence in the 1800 block of Laurel Road, tearing up a field, a caller said.
