Fuel prices are reasonable, Spring Break is just around the corner -- isn’t it time to enjoy some recreation in your recreational vehicle?

Plan your destination, pack the suitcases, stock the cupboards -- and service that RV that has been sitting unused for too long.

Jeff Claflin’s forté happens to be servicing RVs, and he has just opened a new mobile RV repair business in the Illinois Valley.

“I’ve been in the RV industry most of my adult life,” says Claflin, who has more than 25 years experience. He is RVIA/RVDA Master Certified in RV repairs.

Claflin grew up in Central Point and graduated from Crater High School; then moved to Arizona in 1974. He worked at Earnhardt’s RV Center and Camping World RV Sales for 31 years until, like all Snowbirds, he decided to return to Oregon’s green.

He and his wife, Mary, moved to Selma in June 2008. They are living in their own RV as they build their “Oregon Dream Home.”

Claflin started 1-4-U RV Repair (Oregon Reg.# 569617-91) in February this year. His services include all RV appliance, electrical, plumbing, exterior and interior repairs.

He installs new awnings, or replaces the fabric and parts of awnings that need some expert TLC.

“In the RV industry, you’re a Jack-of-all-trades, from flooring and carpet to sealing roofs,” he said. “My expertise is woodwork, new cabinets. Whatever it takes, I can refurbish one from the ground up if need be.”
