Thursday, March 5
- In the 23000 block of Redwood Hwy., according to a complainant, a “transient-looking” man, possibly a “tweeker,” knocked on his door at 10:30 the night before, asking for gasoline. Receiving none, the man drove away in a yellow-and-black Chevy pickup truck, the caller said.
- Following a disturbance on Caves Hwy. at Laurel Road reported at 6:08 p.m. involving a man and a woman, both parties were contacted by a deputy. The man was advised to walk home; the woman was advised of her options.
- A domestic disturbance was reported on W. River Street at 6:21 p.m.
- During a traffic stop in the 31000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 7:43 p.m., Merle Leonard Southard, 29, was cited on an Oregon State Parole Board warrant charging probation violation on an original assault charge.
- Two people wearing ski masks and driving a light-colored pickup truck reportedly covered a security camera and then attempted to break into the automated car wash at Lube-N-Shine on S. Hussey Avenue. Some $200 damage was reported.
- A woman who phoned to report that her estranged husband had threatened her was not happy to hear that a deputy was unavailable.
- Following a reported assault on Garner Road, Kelly Lynn Mason, 33; and William Richard Hildenbrand, 28, each were cited on charges of third-degree assault and menacing.
- On Holland Loop a man was reported bleeding from a head wound from which he’d pulled out stitches. He also was said to be screaming and acting “out of it.”

Friday, March 6
- Gregory Snell Putney, 58, was cited on a charge of speeding (70 in a 55 mph zone) in the 20000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 3:35 p.m.
- Michael C. Devlin, 32, was cited on a charge of speeding (55 in a 45 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. at Laurel Road at 3:52 p.m.
- In the 2000 block of Caves Hwy. Richard Michael Miner-Mayfield, 18, was cited on charges of driving uninsured and no operator’s license. The vehicle was impounded.
- A 15-year-old runaway person was turned over to his parents in Downtown Cave Junction at 6:26 p.m.
- A caller complained that after he allowed a woman to use his credit card for one purchase over the telephone, she used the card number to make purchases at six more businesses.
- Jeremy Nicholas Hurst, 26, was cited on a charge of driving with a suspended license on Caves Hwy. at S. Junction Avenue at 9:14 p.m. His vehicle was impounded.
- A man contacted on S. Junction Avenue claimed to not know his identity, and that the county jail would not release him if he were transported there.
- Four under-aged boys were contacted in a vehicle parked at Valley Evangelical Free Church on Laurel Road at 11:01 p.m. An 18-pack of beer and a bottle of hard liquor were located in the vehicle. The youths elected to dump the alcohol, and were allowed to keep the deposit bottles.
- At 11:23 p.m. a caller in Downtown CJ stated that “intoxicated teen-agers” asked him to purchase beer for them.

Saturday, March 7
- At Illinois River Forks State Park Robert Alan Carlton, 65, was cited on charges of no valid operator’s permit, no insurance and open container. His vehicle was impounded.
- Following a motor vehicle accident on W. Lister Street at 1:35 p.m., Judith Marietta Breeding, 58, was cited on a charge of following too closely.
- A woman reported that a man pulled her sleeping bag out from under her as she slept and left with it. Later, the couple were found sitting together near a Downtown CJ business and they stated that there was no problem.
- It was reported at 7:13 p.m. that a man in a gray vehicle was parked at Subway in Downtown CJ, honking his horn and throwing rocks on the roof of the building.

Sunday, March 8
- Contacted at a camp near Seats Dam, Herbert Leith Bright, 53, was lodged in Josephine County Jail on a warrant charging failure to appear on a charge of driving under the influence of an intoxicant.
- A Rockydale Road resident complained that his neighbor’s dogs were harassing his horses. The complaint was referred to county animal control.
- In the 8000 block of Caves Hwy., Maryanna Burns, 33, was cited on a warrant charging harassment, and on a charge of possession of a controlled substance/less than an ounce of marijuana. Veston Lee Burns, 14, was taken to the Juvenile Justice Center in Grants Pass on a protective pickup order.
- Jack Hugh Steinhoff, 54, was cited on a charge of driving uninsured and warned for failure to use a turn signal on Redwood Hwy. at River Street at 8:47 p.m.
- A Redwood Hwy. property owner complained that motorcycle riders repeatedly trespass on her property, and have destroyed a wooden barrier she put up to keep them out.
- Three large dogs were reported running on W. River Street toward Evergreen Elementary School at 2:15 p.m., “chasing everything in sight.”
- A Selma resident reported that another woman had acquired a 1-800 telephone number and was using her identity.
- A mother reported continuing harassment of her child at Illinois Valley High School.
- At 5:07 p.m. in the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy. a caller stated that someone was stealing the transmission from a car.
- Three bicycle frames a man acquired from another person were thought to be stolen. The serial numbers were to be run to check the status.

Monday, March 9
- A woman reported that her child was receiving threatening text messages from other students at Illinois Valley High School.

Tuesday, March 10
- Following a report of a man walking on the middle of Redwood Hwy. and screaming, a 19-year-old man was given a ride to his residence.
- On Takilma Road at 1:13 a.m. a caller stated that she heard a dog yelping as if in pain and that she heard drumming.
- In the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 1:33 a.m. someone stated that a young man was attempting to break into another residence on the property.
- A man stated that he was threatened with physical assault by another man where he used to live on Reeves Creek Road.
- While cleaning a rental property on Thompson Creek Road, a woman said, a man appeared with a shotgun and strode up and down the driveway, staring at her and her helper.
- Loud music coming from a makeshift residence on Lakeshore Drive was the subject of a complaint received at 1:54 p.m.
- A woman reported that her ex-husband gave a co-worker a letter for her, in violation of a no-contact order.
- On W. Stevenson Street, a property owner said that a tenant had moved out, leaving behind some bicycle parts that were believed to be stolen. Returning later, the owner found that entry had been made to the residence and that the parts had been removed.
- A N. Sawyer Avenue resident reported a continuing problem with vehicles parking at the end of the street. He stated that he’s found numerous needles in the bushes nearby, and believes that people park in that location “to do drugs.”
