SPRING AHEAD - Daylight-saving time will begin on Sunday, March 8. Set clocks forward by one hour Saturday night March 7 before going to bed.
HONORS HUMOR - Comedian Miles Kehoe (A&E, MTV and Comedy Central) will perform at Taylor’s Country Store in Cave Junction on Saturday, March 7. The event is a fund-raiser for the IVHS Chapter of the National Honor Society. Dinner seating will begin at 7 p.m.; the show will start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at Taylor’s and the IVHS office; or phone Patrice Tucker at 592-2116.
GREEN SCENE - St. Patrick of the Forest Catholic Church, at 407 W. River St. in Cave Junction, will serve a corned beef-and-cabbage Irish dinner on Sunday, March 15, from 2 to 5 p.m. There also will be a raffle.
IVCDO GATHERING - Illinois Valley Community Development Organization (IVCDO) will conduct its annual membership meeting and board election on Thursday, March 19 at the RCC Business Entrepreneurial Center in Kerby. Membership is good for two years. Renewal forms are available at the IVCDO office in the I.V. Visitor Center, 201 Caves Hwy., or phone 592-4440 to confirm membership status.
WELSH WISHES - Carrot and apple soup, Welsh lamb stew, Anglesey eggs, roasted veggies and Mum's fruit trifle are on the menu of the sixth annual Welsh dinner. It’s set for Selma Community Center on Saturday, March 21. There will be singing, and a discussion of Welsh history and language. Tickets are available at the Selma Center office, 1 to 4 p.m. weekdays, or phone 415-1000.

NOTEPAD - Folk duo Steve Gillette and Cindy Mangsen will perform traditional and original music at Takilma Community Bldg. on Sunday, March 15 beginning at 6 p.m. The concert is a benefit for Dome School and Spiral Living Center ... Southern Oregon Antiques & Collectables Club will host a show and sale at the Medford Armory on Saturday and Sunday, March 14 and 15 ... Career Day at Lorna Byrne Middle School will be held on Wednesday, March 18. The event will bring community business and professionals volunteering their time to share about the education, skills and training needed for a particular interest or career. The annual event also helps provide opportunities for students to become better informed about possible career choices ... Soup for the Souls, Illinois Valley Safe House Alliance’s annual event to mark International Sexual Assault Awareness month, is set for Saturday, April 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. ...
