From our weekly issue dated February 25, 2009
An intoxicated pedestrian was the likely cause of a hit-and-run accident on Caves Hwy. on Saturday night, Feb. 21, said Oregon State Police (OSP). An investigation is continuing.
65-year-old Jack Robert Bond was hit as he walked in the middle of Caves Hwy. in the 900 block at 7:25 p.m., OSP said. The driver of the westbound vehicle, said to be a small, red two-door passenger car, fled the scene without stopping to render aid or provide required information, said OSP.
Bond was transported to Three Rivers Community Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
An attempt to locate was distributed to law enforcement agencies, OSP said. The vehicle is said to have damage to the front grill.
