Booster Club seeking sports support
From our weekly issue dated February 18, 2009
As a fund-raiser, the Lady Cougar girls softball team will bag groceries at two locations on Friday, Feb. 20 from 4 to 6:30 p.m.; and Saturday the 21st from 10 a.m. to 5.p.m.
They will be at Shop Smart Food Warehouse in Cave Junction and Ray’s Food Place in Selma. Funds raised will go to the team for equipment and personal softball related items.
Another way to support IVHS would be to log onto frostedflakes.com. The Kellogg’s cereal company, is having its “Plant a Seed” competition. Kellogg’s will contribute to 100 high schools and youth sports groups for field renovations and facility improvements.
With more than 2,100 entries, IVHS needs votes. It is quick, easy and free. Just log on, follow the map to Cave Junction, fill in the required information and leave a comment.
Todd Kaberline, Booster Club president, entered IVHS in the program, and provided the photos at the site.
“After three days we had six votes,” he said. “Five days later we had over 1,300 votes. It is for track, soccer, baseball and softball. Who knows? Maybe we could be one of the lucky recipients. After looking at the pictures you will see we really need it,” said Kaberline.
